Carol is one of the best professors at Hampshire College. She is an amazing speaker and an incredibly kind and generous person. Her classes are hard but support students in pushing themselves to the next level.

carollee is one of the smartest and most sensitive professors i have studied with. she understands and communicates the complexities of the cuban revolution and of cuban history as a whole. the program she initiated between the cuban writers and artists union and hampshire college is truly unique, and an amazing experience for me

I graduated in 1996 so my impression is somewhat dated. I understand the criticism directed at Carollee, but will always credit her for pushing me to become a better student when other profs let things slide. As a result, I was better prepared to work on my Div III with the wonderful, but difficult Sura Levine.

I love Carol! She's a fantastic adviser, always interested in how I'm doing. She was really encouraging in my writing. She can be a bit patronizing in class at times, but usually not if you say intelligent things. Definitely sees through BS, but is ultimately committed to her students.

I like Carol, we'll start with that. She's nice, smart, makes interesting points, and cares about her students. Cons: she's old. Kinda deaf, kinda flaky, kinda condescending at times. Has an annoying tendency of stating the obvious and popping papers on us. And while her class is interesting, it's not very challenging, and discussion is very slow.

Carollee is fabulous. I took several classes with her, and she was on my Div III committee. She is certainly excentrique but she will see straight through you and people don't tend to like that (I do). Go for it, and be challenged!
