Comment:

Absolutely terrible. More life stories than actual lectures, horrible jokes, and worst of all, the rambling. The first three weeks of the class has been going over a page and a half of CHAPTER ONE HOMEWORK. She stops going over the content of the paper to talk about her past experiences, which usually has nothing to do with the actual content.

Gross is an interesting person but a horrible teacher. She takes roll call like we were in 1st grade and has annoying two-page papers that require five sources for each one. She plays up being "tough" and having "hard" tests but she is all bark and no bite. Easy A but a really boring class and lecture.

She tends to speak a whole lot about her self and includes to many discussions on race. class on the other hand is okay but the work load you really need to work on it. she does help you fix your work but you have to beg for it. its an interesting class but her jokes are only funny to her.

There was only one person in the class that thought her jokes were kind of funny, but everyone else thought her jokes were either rude, wierd, or not funny at all. This class is cool only if you really like power point slides, and you enjoy being bored to tears.

What an awful instructor. She is often unsure of her subject matter, and doesn't mind making things up on the spot. Makes the class wait while she calls roll (by first name, no less). She should teach middle school, if she learns her material better. All topics turn into racism and battered women, she's got a real hang up with that stuff.

Her class is very boring. Half of the time we were in class she told random stories about her life and her daughter. I think I learned more about her life then sociology. The only tests were midterm and final and she never really taught us what was going to be on them so you had to teach it to yourself.
