Prof. Hodge is highly respected at CCC. Her teaching style didn't match my learning style but she clearly cares about her students' success. I found her condescending at times, which may motivate some people but not me. There are also several events outside of class you must write a paper about if you can't attend. Hard to juggle if you also work.

With Professor Hodge the key is to 1. Listen 2. Do the work Follow her directions, ask for clarity if you are confused, and you will be fine in the class. She doesn't assign "busy work" , everything is for a purpose and the material is for knowledge for the tests. Can't stress it enough just listen, if you listen you will be fine!

ONE OF THE BEST PROFESSORS AT CCC! I love professor Hodge so much. She is very knowledgeable, great lecturer, is interesting, and is sweet. I was an intern for her after taking her course, and was able to get close to her, she is so great. Her class is easy to pass if you take notes, do all assignments, and come to class. EASY A.

So many optional assignments that if you don't want to pay to go to them you have to write a 2-page paper. When you already wrote a 10 page paper at the beginning of the class. I spent about 60 dollars for her class on top of the book fees.

She is an amazing woman she makes you feel good and makes sure you know history. She literally gives you what's on the test. She is 5'0 of craziness and is stern so don't mess with her . If you go to the events on campus, the dance class on a Saturday and do well on her 3 tests and study guides you'll get an A for sure and you will need the book.

Grades by a point system, which I like. After you reach a certain number of points, you basically don't have to do anything except show up. You HAVE TO READ to do well on the (essay-style) tests. Once you do your 10 page research paper, the class gets pretty easy. As long as you don't procrastinate you should be good.

She is a very nice teacher. She really loves essay questions on tests and mini essays as assignments. If you attend classes and take notes regular, she tells you exactly what to study for the tests. So aside from writing ALOT, tests and assignment are easy if you attend, read and take notes.

Professor Hodge is not an easy teacher. But why would you want to take a class that you do not learn anything? She is very tough, but once you get to know her as a teacher you get used to her personality. I have learned so much from her class. She is awesome and I love her stories. Very passionate about African American Studies. The best!

Ms. Hodge is a good teacher. She is passionate about ethnic studies, specifically African American studies. She does give a lot of work, reports, presentations, essays. Her tests are essay form as well. She did give us study guide hand outs that pretty much covered the exam material. If you have a day job be ready to cut into your sleep time.

Prof Hodge teaches her class in a way that makes you "step up your game", but it's not difficult if you follow the syllabus. She pushes you to give clear, concise answers, which many label as being "picked on". She's a helpful, opinionated teacher who knows her information well and whose class prepares you for any other classes you may take.
