i had her for an english gen ed called quest for utopia & i absolutely loved it. the only h/w was a 5 1-2pg response papers, 5pg synthesis, & several short readings with no midterm/final. every class consisted of argumental/opinionated discussions on the readings, which i barely read, from the previous night. it was an easy A

Good class. She had like two weeks to prepare, and did well, with that. The only trouble was that it took the entire second half of the semester to do the group projects. I wish we had moved at less of a snail's pace on those. very nice woman, and very forgiving on mix ups with small assignments.

I can't say much about this woman because she had three awful TA's do most of the work. What little of her we got seemed okay, but 90% of the class was in the hands of three pretentious overachieving grad students who seemed to relish in the idea of being able to inflict pain upon us all. Probably revenge for getting beat up their whole lives.

i bet she's a great researcher, but good teacher? nope. the syllabus was promising, but she failed to deliver on any prep for discussions, which were then quite rambling and unhelpful. she was happy to let a few students dominate the class with their minor interests. overall, a big let down.

She is brilliant, but you have to be too in order to do very well. The grading was hard, maybe b/c of the tough TA's just trying to show off. She's nice and if you not only do all of the reading, on time, but participate a lot, you'll do fine.

I thought she was great - one of the most brilliant profs I've had. Definately not an easy class. If you are a good english major, you are dedicated to your education and you actually want to *learn* (as opposed to being spoon-fed), take her. She ain't so bad! ;)

this class was horrible, she used the word ain't in the first sentence she spoke and she's an english professor, the quizzes were hard, and she did come into the class saying the average of the last class was a c, she needs to improve her teaching and her attitude, and her english!

Quizzes are ridiculous and the material is hard, but the discussions are interesting and she's very reasonable with grading. Overall, not a bad class, but I wouldn't want to take it again.

she is extremely knowledgeable and does lead a great discussion, interested in hearing what you have to say. genuinely concerned about students. two 3-page papers, midterm and final. if you have a B avg on the papers and midterm, you can opt out of final and write a third paper on whatever you want

This is the worst professor I've ever had. Her assignments are impractical, her terms for grading are unspecific, and telling your class you don't expect better than a C- from them is not a good method. She's unavailable and a bit elitist about literature

Maybe if this was a smaller class I would like her better. Its a lecture with about 120 students in it. Any help comes from the TA and not her, she doesn't really make herself all that available to answer questions or explain things.
