Lots of reading. Not too many assignments, but they're long writing assignments.

A tough grader at times, but very nice teacher. Expect surprise quizzes that are based of the textbook. As long as you keep up with the work, and give effort, you should be fine

Definitely knows what she's talking about. She makes you work for your grade, and assigns lengthy reading (sometimes over one hundred pages with a one day time period between classes). Tough but fair grader.

This class was a GenEd for me, but she taught it like it was a 300level English major class. Class is just lecture, no visuals or ppt. write down everything she says.

Her lectures can be boring but if you pay attention and take good notes she basically hands you the information about the texts and how to interpret it. The readings are long, but she goes over it in depth in class. She's the "talk at you" kind of professor. She is a fair grader, there's only a couple papers, midterm and final. Not too shabby

Professor Maibor is by far one of my favorite professors at FSU. There is a lot of reading, but she has great discussions during class. She is very nice and very willing to help her students. She even brought in snacks for the class a few times!I definately would take a course with her again if given the opportunity!

There is a lot of reading in this class, but usually sparknotes works just fine. If yuo want to do well, find one point each of the books and describe it in detail or use it as a metaphor. Overall, Prof Maibor is very nice and super helpful.

I was in an Honors Seminar based on the study of Justice, a freshman class that she ran like we were seniors. Hated the subject, loved her. She was very demanding, but challenging in a good way. I would take another one of her classes. Very professional, got down to business, some humor, occasional snacks.

She is super nice and very helpful. Easy to approach and ask for help if you need it but she is very clear in class. Her examines are very fair with great reviews before hand. She even brings snacks in sometimes :)

She gives ZERO explanation for why she grades the way she does. For the midterm and final I saw a bunch of check-marks and a single question written in the margin and BAM! B. Don't take her if you want an A, I suspect she just doesn't like giving them out. Frustrating, especially since I felt I deserved better.

Hawthorne and the romantics are my best friends. I first had them in American lit and then in American romantic lit and then last fall in seminar. I had all my notes after the first class and i didn't have to do any reading for the others except for paper sources. Maibor is not too hard, as long as you talk once per class you'll be fine.

Not as hard as everyone claims; this is COLLEGE - expect to work. Lots of reading every night. Very kind and approachable and extremely clear! I did find myself falling asleep in her class from time to time, but that's because I wasn't interested in the subject, not because of her! I'd definitely take her again :) Nice person and well-educated! :D

Great teacher. Lots of reading - but it was an english class. She REALLY knows what she is talking about and is extremely intelligent. Take her if you really want to learn something. She can be a tough grader, but she'll give you what you deserve and offers lots of help. I suggest taking a class with her if you can

She is a bad teacher. She does not help or explain anything. Gives homework in the text every night and expects your papers to be perfect. She will tell you that you did not put enough details and then she will tell you that you put to many details. She does not even know what she wants when she grades.
