Had her for 4 classes and loved every one of them. Grammar was hard! Medieval lit was awesome! Linguistics was hard but fun! HEL was a blast. Reserved but has a great sense of humor. Must go to class or it hurts your grade.

Dr. O'Hearn is extremely knowledgeable about all things grammar. She listens to her students' questions and comments, and never condescends. Class involvement is very important in this class, and it's imperative to study and stay atop classwork because, unless you are a whizz at diagramming sentences, the class grows progressively harder.

I enjoyed her class. She explains things well, gives good examples, and grades fairly. I also enjoyed her personality--she is a bit reserved most of the time, but every once in a while she lets her sense of humor show, and she is hilarious!
