Is not respectful of students, weighs heavy on class participation but does not provide an environment where students feel comfortable participating, quizzes are about every other class and if you don't read the book you will not pass the quizzes. However, besides the quizzes you only have to write 1 paper and complete outside of class assignments.

She doesnt reply to emails, her quizzes are mostly opinion based so if you arent think what she is thinking then youre wrong, she barely ever tells you what will be on the quiz so you never know what to study, and when you participate in class if your answer does not fit exactly what she wants then youre wrong. By far one of the worst.

This class legit sucked the soul out of me. there are 8 quizzes and they are all opinion based, so basically you don't do good if you don't agree with her opinion. You need to read the book so you have some idea of what the quizzes are on. and participation is 30% of your grade, so if you don't say anything in class you're going to get like a C

Dr. Petrosino is a very nice woman, however her lectures are kind of all over the place and uninteresting. What she expects from you on exams and papers is very unclear. Participation Is a big part of your grade, she only uses participation 3 exams a paper & film critique for your grade. Not much room to make mistakes. Wouldnt take her again...

She is a nice lady. Her main problem is that she does not clearly explain assignments, and then acts condescending when you don't understand. She also phrases questions in a way that makes them very confusing. This class consisted of all participation (50% of your grade) based on reading/discussion and one final 15-20 page research paper (50%).

I have a 3.5Gpa and this was the worst class ive taken. Nice lady but can be very opinionated and condescending. In my class there were 0 tests and 8 (3-4pg) and 1(10-12pg) papers all due the last 2 weeks of class! She graded only on participation and essays. i Participated daily and killed myself doing papers still only got a C. Just Beware!!

Dr. Petrosino is incredibly knowledgable and encourages critical thought, which is so necessary for Criminal Justice. Her lectures were riveting and she asked the right kind of questions to make you think. If you are passionate about the subject matter of the classes she teaches, she's an excellent choice!

she is very passionate about the material. You will not do well if you dont study. However, the questions in her exams are off lectures. She is a difficult grader and marks you down for every mistake on the paper. She is very helpful one on one, but not respectful of student opinions in class, often interrupting students to say they are wrong.

Professor Petrosino is a decent professor. She is a really nice lady; personable, funny, sweet. However, she is quite scatter-brained when it comes to her teaching. Perhaps it is because I took a once a week class. But her assignments were not clear in her syllabus, and she also didn't explain them well when asked in person. Wouldn't take again

This is a tough subject to master, no matter who the teacher is. That said, Dr. P makes they class pleasurable and def. worth going to. It takes alot of studying and reading, but def. worth it. There are 2 tests, 2 papers and a final. Participation is 20% of the final grade so speak up in class

She is passionate about the material. I thought the class was repetitive. I was not very interested in Hate Crimes prior to the class and still feel that way. She is VERY big on class participation. You cannot not participate and expect a decent grade. She has high expectations when it comes to papers. Her test questions are rather detailed.

Great teacher. Keeps class interesting with class discussions, helps you learn better. Have to read assignments and go to class, which was tough for me. Class usually has two tests, final, and presentation, had her before and that was the way she did it.

Her Race,Class,Crime, and Justice course in probably one of the best courses I've ever had. She's extremely clear and is always willing to help. People say that she gives a lot of work, but a majority of it is easy internet exercises and you know the paper topics in advance. If your willing to apply yourself she's a must take, otherwise dont take h

She is awesome. She is a good teacher and makes class fun. She is the only teacher that I visit to just say hi to and I don't even have her anymore. If you are willing to try and have a couple of laughs...take her for anything.

Hopefully Dr. Petrosino will again teach a Hate Crimes course in the future as students will find this class very interesting. Class discussion is a key component and if you study and read the assignments, your test perormance will benefit. Be prepared for each class and ready to answer questions.

She has your wrte a paper on self evaluation of stereotypes. What are yours & put it in writing. This paper scares me. Makes me wonder if it could back to haunt me careerwise like "Mark Furum: in OJ Simpson case.
