The class is relatively easy: You watch movies in class the vast majority of the time. However you have 4 assignments for the class. She's not very clear on the assignments, so it's somewhat hard to know what she expects from you. Make sure you cite in APA format when you have to. Attendance is mandatory to pass: miss 4 classesfailure.

Tice is intimidating but amazing! majority of class is discussion on current events, policy, material in the textbook. If a chapter is too dense, she will make a handout that breaks it down for you. Gave the option of a midterm OR leading class, which was cool! Book critique, policy abstract and poster, hard assignments that take time but worth it

There are 2 papers and 2 take home exams. Though she is a tough grader, she is really understand and caring. Definitely enjoyed the class and her lectures! I wish she taught more classes.

I took her FYS class. She was a nice lady, but I did not enjoy the way she taught or gave out assignments. Yes, there were not many assignments, but she was unclear about what she actually wanted in your work. She seldom gave out clear rubrics and is a tough grader. Make sure you use strictly APA and double check your sentence format.

Prof. Tice is one of the most caring and interesting professors I've ever had! She always chose amazing films for us in class (Good Will Hunting, Psycho, Girl Interrupted) and we had GREAT discussions afterwards. She funny, amazing, and passionate about social work. I will miss her so much next semester, if you can TAKE HER CLASS! Life changing.

Dr. Tice is by far the best professor I have ever had. Her class is not easy, but as long as you do the work and come to class, you should do well. She is a great person and treats each student with respect. I recommend taking 360 with her. You will learn alot.

Awesome instructor, she encourages discussion and it is obvious she cares about her students and community. She is very knowledgable and can be quite funny! The work is not difficult however she expects the best from her students. I will always recommend taking a class with Dr. Tice

Dean Tice is awesome. She is definitely tough and expects a lot out of you but that's a given considering she is the dean of the SOWK department. She is also extremely passionate about social work which shows in her lectures. She teaches the class with a lot of enthusiasm and makes it a lot of fun. You'll have a great laugh every class.

im going to put u out there, but the person who gave her a bad is rating is the 1 who fail a take home test..lol..but the class is easy and she tries to make it fun. the policy paper is hard, but she lets u turn in a draft for both papers n then u have 2 take home test. how easy is that. is not preference,just go to class ready to talk about policy

It is a privledge to be taught by Dr. Tice. She is an amazing prof and is so passionate about SOWK. She should be since she's the dean of the SOWK dept. I really love being in her class and talking with her as she has an open door policy. It's a lot of writing but she is clear and specific in what she's looking for.

Dr. Tice is an AMAZING professor! She really cares about what the students have to say and about their opinions. Dr.Tice is great! The midterm and final were take home, which helped a lot. She grades very fairly, and allows extra credit. Her class is not a breeze, but it is definitely possible to get an A.
