Dr. Dawson is an amazing prof! Her lectures were very well organized and well thought out. Her material was very interesting and looked at the texts in ways that were new and interesting to me. I also had her as my tutorial assistant and she was very personable and approachable. Her marking's a little tough, but with constructive feedback.

I cannot STAND this prof! Her lectures are informative but I found her very snobbish and a know it all. She picks favourites and it seems as though you can never improve, your grades will always be the same. I was docked grades simply because she didn't like my opinions or wording. It is her way or NO way. She is a know it all, not a good teacher.

One of my favourite profs ar Dal! She gives amazing lectures, sparks great discussions and is just an all around great prof. Her expectations are made very clear from the beginning, and there are always ways to get help. Only problems might be from the TA, who was a brutal marker in my class.

Dr. Dawson was a balance with Dr. Campbell. I wasn't a fan of Carrie's choice in literature, but she discussed them enough in class I didn't NEED to force myself to read them before. She is a stimulating lecturer, although I find her lectures a little too abstract to follow easily. But that's a personal issue. I look forward to having Dr. D again!

Engaging prof. Her lectures are heavily based on the readings she assigns, yet she manages to keep them lively with discussions. The readings are also pretty long, but for the most part they're interesting, so it doesn't like a chore to read them. She is a fair marker- if you work hard and stick to your notes, you'll make the grade.

She is very artsy and passionate towards what she does. I can see how others can find her snobbish, etc, but she is a great professor nonetheless. She likes to make everyone feel comfortable and involved. Not a fan of pop quizzes myself, but a seemingly good marker so far.

Fantastic professor, Dr Dawson is the reason I'm majoring in English. She strikes a good balance between interesting lectures and class discussion , and choses great material to teach. She expects a lot from her students, but christ, if you'r averse to elitism, go to community college. Can't wait to see her back from sabbatical next year.

Although thoughtful and organized for lectures, I find her presence snobbish. Obviously, it is imp. for her to come across as an intelligent elite, (intelligent, yes; elite, ?) but her arduous speaking cadence is a little infantilizing for uni.
