Her class isn't easy but isn't difficult either. You really just have to put in effort for a good grade. Throughout the quarter you write 4 essays, read one book, and read the textbook. I really do not get it how people rate her so nicely. She is a nice person, I guess. I went to her office hours every time, but I sill got C or D on my papers. Do not take her if you are seeking for an easy grader. I took this class during the summer.

At first I did enjoy her class. She is very nice and will help you if you go to office hours; however, I went multiple times to office hours and she would say my essay was good and that she liked it. The grades I would recieve reflected the opposite of what she said.

The professor is incredibly nice. She tries her best to always give feedback and do anything that may benefit the student. One key tip is to always go to office hours, it's really helpful if you want any corrections on your essays. She grades pretty hard on grammar and the content, so remember to always back up your ideas.

Professor Schroeder is a good professor and gives good feedback on your essays but she is a really TOUGH grader. I never had a hard time typing my essays. She is really picky when it comes to grammar. Make sure you go to her office hours for help (and to receive participation credit)

Honestly one of the best professors I have had at UCR. I came into this class dreading having to write essays, but she ended up making it rather enjoyable. There was a lot of reading with a few quizzes but nothing too difficult. Definitely get this professor.

She's an awesome teacher! Class is usually based on discussion about the readings and essay help. Very helpful with the essays. I went to her office hours for every essays, and I received a lot of good feedback. Picky with grammar, but that's English. I noticed that my writing had improved greatly because of her help. Take her if you can!

This teacher is lazy and doesn't know how to be lenient with the grades, especially on essays, even if I tried my best and went to her office hours for multiple help. Very straightforward. Speaks her mind - cusses. More lenient than others. Don't be late with your papers. It'll cost you. Uses the book alot. You're going to read call of the wild. Has surprise quizzes. Easy if you read the assigned reading(not long). For essays, follow her requirements, no grammar mistakes, support your thesis and you get an A!

So she is a bit of a slacker, a couple times the whole class showed up but she didn't which was okay with me. Will give extensions on papers and is always VERY willing to help, loves visits during office hours and likes her students to participate and stand out. I think she truly cares about her students. Take her if you can!
