She's incredibly difficult. I took the class even after reading some of the comments on this website, but rationalized that the people who write comments here have some personal vendetta. That's not the case. She is truly the hardest prof I've had at DePauw, and cares little about her intro class. Try to avoid her!

Fantastic professor. Singlehandedly got me through psych comps testing and worked tirelessly with me out of class. Her tests are book heavy but easy to study for with that in mind. Take her if you get the chance.

I LOVE HER. Her teaching is clear and she is a good storyteller, she is funny and sarcastic and good at answering questions. She does expect you to read the book outside of class. The tests are hard, but if you follow the study guides that she gives to you and study, you'll do fine! If you take psych, take VanBrunt!

If you have the chance, do not take her class unless you have certain confidence in yourself that you don't need her help to complete this course. Her class is ok, she thinks she is humorous and creative by fulfilling the class with videos, worksheet, personal stories, and limited information from textbooks. Btw, she cares little about students.

she was beyond hard. she didn't care how her students did at all. i think she just felt like an intro to psy was so below her that she didn't want to try really hard to make her students enjoy psych. let's just say she scared me so bad that i will NEVER take another psych class while at depauw.

Shes extremely funny and entertaining in class. Her lectures are pretty straightforward and easy to get...but I would advise studying at least 5-6 hours for her tests as they can get ridiculously hard and are really broad...with that said, not impossible to get a good grade

So Hard. Her tests are really really bad, real vague and cover every topic. There was a test where the highest grade was an 83%, and no curve. She expects you to go through and read the test which really blows (I had to read every chapter). In class projects not bad though, i guess thats the lone bright spot. Class was ok she used videos/worksheet

Out of the 20 odd professors I had here at DePauw, she is one the top three worst ones I've had. Her tests were unfair and vague and it was rather pointless when you went in to see her for help. Highly recommend not to take her. She thinks she's funny but not at all.

She hates me for some reason. Gives out hard as hell tests, and it's too much for an intro into psych class. It's more anatomy than anything! I really gained nothing out of the class, and it was a burden to go to.

Challenging but worthwhile prof. All of her exams in this course were blue-book - and she's very detail-oriented, so it was a tough course. She's great in class - clear lectures and loads of personality.

i went to class probably about half of the semester... I read the book, and I still got a C- not too shabby... she focuses too much on anatomy of the brain, eye, and ear.

She is one cool psych teacher. She reminds me of a Saturday night live actress. BEWARE- her tests are killer... answer every question she gives on the study guide, and you should be ok.
