This isn't a history class. It should be called Colonization and It's Effects because that's all he talks about. We spent an entire week on an Egyptian village prior to 1914. We spent ONE DAY on World War One. The Russian Revolution got half a power point slide. My 8th grade history was more informative.

A really nice, funny man, but very disorganized, and a really terrible public speaker. The way he presents is almost impossible to listen to, as he stutters and constantly jangles his keys. Very smart though, and great if you really get history.

Hard to follow and classes were pretty boring. If you don't enjoy Ottoman history then don't take this class

Prof. Findley was funny and he really knows what he's talking about. I would recommend this class for someone who already knows a lot about the Ottoman Empire, because it seemed like everyone who didn't had some trouble. Six books, a paper, a group project,a midterm and a final. Moderately tough grader.

Not a good professor. Sped through the lecture so fast most people were unable to take notes, although they were posted online. The class was easy as I am a poli sci major and knew the stuff already, but friends complained about the difficulty for a GEC. only redeeming quality was the TA was great.

Not good. Spends the first 30 minutes of class rambling about unimportant things and then has to speed through material at the end of class. Very boring, hard assignments, doesn't prepare you adequately for tests.

Horrible experience. Class was extremely boring. Tests were rough because he didn't give very good reviews or study guides. The book he makes you read for the paper is as dry as reading stereo instructions. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS

One of the best professors I've ever had at OSU. I'm sorry it took until my senior year to take one of his classes.

His bowtie is astounding. Not so bad of a class, but was out of my focus area and a challenge, as it was exams and not papers. What you should do is pretend you are interested...you might end up actually interested in the end.

Very smart guy and wants students to learn but the material is not very interesting if you don't really like history. Not a bad 597 course, but how you do will depend a lot on your ta.

He is a good soul who truly cares about his subject. He is hard to take, but I feel for him. I saw him cry while speaking about the modern problems between the US and MEast. Plus his southern charm is endearing.

His class is a joke, but thats the only good part about it. Dr. Findley is so out of touch with reality that you will learn nothing.

The Forrest Gump of Academia. Not only does he sound like a mindless hick, his teaching is just like a box of chocolates-- You never know what you're gonna get.
