AMAZING Prof! His exams consisted of entirely multiple choice questions and were verbatim from lecture slides! Only 3 choices (A, B, or C) per question, so it was easy to do well. The essay was alright, but I guess it depends on the TA a little.

Dr Ballantyne really cares about the subject he teaches and it shows. CAP II is one of the best courses for teaching you exactly what you need to know for the exams.

ok teacher. has trouble clarifying some of the more convoluted concepts. Spends too much time on details that aren't very interesting. Kind of boring, but could be worse.

Jim was one of my favourite profs, a great research advisor as well as a very good teacher. If you're interested and talk to him about the material, he'll be more than happy to chat with you. The fact that he's the only 'real' marine biologist left at the university doesn't hurt either.

SO CUTE in a scatterbrained kind of way. Great field courses. Lots of work but very rewarding. Doesn't put up with crap, but cares where it matters. See him with concerns about marine program as well, since he really tries to keep it alive. GO TO LECTURES
