I'd rather do class with ketteler than sharron. I had an incident with her where she made an egregious error in judgement, and stepped over the (ethical) line. That error in judgement was appalling, and I lost any faith in her as a professor and especially as a person. Look for another philosophy professor, or just take a different elective...

Dr.Cate was the best professor I had while at TMC.I by far learned the most in my four years while in her classes. She is a fantastic professor and requires her students to think critically, ask themselves questions and develop their own opinion. Not only is she helpful in the classroom but also wants to see her students excel after graduation

She was a wonderful Professor. Just has an old taste in red-headed husbands. Her stare is less reptilian, but more so cat like. She's FAB!!! Deff take her class.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HER! Although she expects a lot out of you, I think she is the best prof I have had at TMC. She is fair to both sexes regardless of what anyone else will say. If you work hard and participate in class, she will like you. She also cares deeply about her students. I've gotten advice from her on many occassions about topics not related to her class or even school. Take her if you get the chance and are willing to do the work. You will not be disappointed!

My opinion of her constantly wavered during the semester. At times I loved her and at other times, not so much. I do agree that she pretends to respect all opinions but doesn't actually. Once told me my opinion on IVF was "wrong" in class. Just do the reading and participate in class and you'll be fine.

I think she made a difficult subject easier. She's friendly and helpful. All you have to do is ask for help and it's received. I haven't noticed that anyone is not free to speak their mind. She may ask you to justify your statement but what's wrong with that, isn't that part of a learning experience?

she is extremely bigoted, pretending to respect all opinions but coming down hard on those who dare to disagree. in addition, she is boring, demanding, and has a reptilian stare.

Like the other reviewer said, if you take a little time to get a general idea of the readings, and participate in class, she's absolutely great. The material is usually somewhat tough. As for the animosity towards females and flirtation with the males. I have seen none of that at all. Good Prof

She makes things ten times more difficult than they need to be. She DOES NOT LIKE GIRLS, she will be very unhelpful if you are a girl, and she will flirt with the boys.
