This teacher is awful! She doesn't go over the papers till they are due, and she doesn't go into detail. Then when you turn it in, she doesn't like it after you redo it even. Would not recommend if you want a "a" or a "b" in the class. She is very scatter brained. Doesn't go over papers or have any work shop in class. She doesn't give any heads up.

Ms. Strain is a wonderful professor. She encourages her students to "think outside the box" by challenging them with new questions and ideas. There is a lot of reading involved in the class, but it is, afterall, a literature class. Her tests are all short answer/essay, but she gives you the study guide, which is an exact copy of the test.

She is a really nice lady who tries to relate to current issues with her students. This class, although not writing intenseive, is a lot of work though so be prepared to write. She is willing to help though if you need it.

I didn't really enjoy the 1st half of the term b/c she would always go around the room for everyone's thoughts (usually people didn't read and would repeat each other) It made the class boring. Now she gives more background about the author and the story, and that helps allows me to get more out of the class. I recommend her. She's a good teacher.

Her sense of humor can be offensive at times. However, she is a very fun teacher and open to many points of view although she stays rather set in her own opinions. Essay assignments were not difficult, but do require some time and thought. Very open to helping out when it is needed. Note of caution: she is VERY VERY serious about plagiarism!

Cate's class is not hard to pass, but she is very unorganized and extremely sarcastic. She tells you when you are turning in your assignments what is supposed to be turned in and how she wants it. If you take her class be ready for rude comments on your papers if she does not agree with you.

Great teacher. Gives quizzes on readings to boost your grade if you're trying. She makes the research paper A LOT easier by assigning a casebook (sounds scary but isn't). One of the easiest and best 1020 teachers out there.
