she's unclear about what she wanted. insisted that she sent the materials to me beforehad but I did not get it AT ALL. when i did not follow her instructions she blamed on me. very condescening. and no, she's not even a professor. does she have a phd? no. where does the pride come from?

I took FREN221 and FREN222 with her. She cares a lot about the students, but is often quite disorganised. Her notes aren't the clearest, so you have to organise a lot of them yourself. Thankfully, she's very patient and understanding, though she has had bad mood days. VERY TOUGH ON GRAMMAR - if you struggle with it, you will struggle in this course

The stuff she teaches is not much compare to the other instructors. She teaches alright, but you may want to preview before classes. It does get challenging once she lets you speak right after she teaches you the dialogues once. Review and learn everyday, otherwise don't expect a very good grade.

She is one of the most honest, fair and caring profs out there. She is straightforward about her explanations for the class but is constantly working to ensure that each and every student gets the help and attention he or she needs. Although I'm not continuing with French I do wish I could have a class with her again!

Totally misjudged her on the first class, she tried making fun of me but basically i told her off. However throught the semester she was very very nice and helpful. She also taught us french revolution history (student rights!) and customs in france (20-30 min all together). She's nice when you get to know her. I would take her again Oui!

Catherine is by far my favourite teacher at SFU! She's fun, she'll joke with you and she really helps you practice your french. She's kind of like the "Fun Aunt". She is frank, which in some teachers may be intimidating, but my experiences with her are all good and i take her advice to heart. A+

The best prof I've ever had! The class was tough, but she was always there to help, and most importantly able to explain things in different ways. Also, she designs the class for what the students want to take from it. Fantastic teacher! Take a course with her if you can!

Lovely Lady, as everyone else has mentioned, helpful, kind, positive attitude, her classes are uctually fun, as fun as any french course could possibly get. Even if sick, she comes to school with a smile on her face, ready to go - always!

i was fortunate to have her as my french teacher for many french courses. a teacher full of enthousiasme, passion for teaching, willingess to help, fun, smile etc. but sometimes it's hard to follow her classes, for she didn't tell us where she was talking about when going over the homework.
