Comment:
Dr. McLaughlin offers a consistent approach to learning the basics of philosophy, provides sufficient supplemental material, and has a reasonable workload. She does repeat lectures frequently which can be boring, but the repetition emphasizes important points. Can be disorganized and kept revising the syllabus. Class project was worthwhile.

she's nice, but she expects way too much out of the class. she grades essays harder than any english teacher i have ever had. She will give you opportunities to help your grade though, so it may be stressful, but i definitely walked away with a good grade.

The first day of class, you will notice immediately her, a) teaching style (aka. lack there of) b) knowledge base on the subject (again extremely lacking) and c) her ridiculous expectations. This class is formatted in such away that any sort of insight into the material presented by you will not be appreciated. She openly HATES participation.

I really regret taking this teacher. She is absolutely terrible. I really don't think she was cut out to teach, and any outside info brought in is terrible, if not incorrect!! If you are going to take her, prepare to 1) listen to the same information class, after class, after class. 2) never live up to her expectations. 3) be bored to tears.

By far the worst class I have ever taken. She literally spends the whole class going over what happened the class before and then reads directly from the book to the class. It is absolutely impossible to enjoy this class, let alone get a good grade. I even tried to meet with out of class 3 times aSteer clear of this class at all costs.

she is impossible to understand, spends half the class repeating what she taught the class before. attendance is EXTREMELY mandatory, you even have to tell her why you were absent each time. takes weeks to get back tests/papers. the class itself is easy though if you pretty much teach yourself, there's a lot of extra credit.

Such an easy class! Just do the readings and you'll be fine. Tests are easy, except she grades tough on the essays. Take her, its an easy A. She repeats a lot but that information is usually important. People who do bad just dont do the homework.

The class is so easy. She presents the material in a way that is easy to follow along. As long as you do the readings you will be fine. The test are really easy. She is a little tough with the essay part, but for the most part you'll get high grades. She offers a lot of extra credit & is very helpful. Shes fair and tries to repeat important info

She is a terrible teacher. She makes you read philosophical literature from multiple books at once. Tests are hard, and she doesn't make class fun. Avoid her if you can. Philosophy of the person was not fun

Worst teacher I ever had in my life no joke. She has no clue what is going on in class. No participation or communication between students and professor. Papers are rediculously graded and exams are on material not even discussed in class. Consider jumping off a bridge before taking this class.
