Prof. Sayer will challenge you to become a better writer. She pushes the student but that is what a teacher is suppose to do. I promise that any student who takes her class and takes it seriously will be amazed at how much they learn and just what they are capable of writing. If you want to learn, take her class.

The workload is extremely intense and quite unbelievable for an english 101. You will become a better writer though, you don't have a choice. Don't take this class if you want to get an A because it is nearly impossible.

NOT for the lazy. She expects you to go the extra mile, but come on guys, this is college. You're SUPPOSED to work hard! She's a tough grader, too, but she's willing to help you if you need it. Excellent professor. She is very strict, she knows what she is teaching. Will stay after and help you if having trouble and during office hours. I got a C because I missed 4 classes in a row during Summer Quarter 2006, which lowered my grade horribly. Attend all classes, you are paying for it?

I took the honors course and the workload was tremendous. But she is the most helpful professor I have had and goes out of her way to schedule conferences and answer questions for students. The class is demanding, but I guarantee you will leave a better writer.

Ms. Sayer is very difficult.... however, you can tell that she loves english and will help you when she can.. as dr. sayer says.."you will become a better witer in the end." which i think is true somewhat... good luck with trying to understand directions and NEVER miss one of her classes.

I had to have emergency gall bladder surgery...we hadn't been 2 weeks into the class and all we had done so far was picked topics and group members. I asked if she could email me my work and she told me unless i push back my surgery until the summer I wont succeed, i dropped her class, went below 12 credit hours and had to fight to get my aid back

Professor Sayer is a very good English teacher. She goes out of her way to help her students. A piece of advice for her future students, you CANNOT afford to skip her class, not even ONCE! It's not an easy class, but it is a very rewarding class. Come prepared to work, and work hard!

She is a very creative teacher. She had us actually do writing for community organizations, and she worked with us to make sure our work was the best it could be for them. She really cared about us as individuals and about the organizations we worked for. She's challenging but works hard to help you succeed.

Seems scary and strict at first but if you work hard and take it seriously it's okay. She's tough but fair I think. You won't get an easy A so don't expect to breeze through it. She wants you to learn and work. If you are set on being a serious student, then she's a great teacher to get. She wants you to think and learn and work.
