All she does is read off her power points. Her lectures are so boring and useless, you're better off staying in bed and taking 15 minutes later to read her power points online. Not a hard class, but her true/false on the test are poorly worded. I wouldn't recommend this class.

Terrible class...the topic could have been very interesting but she was not. The true or false on the tests can completely kill your grade. I hated waking up for this class.

Pick a different soc class to take. This one is not as interesting as it sounds. Professor Green spends lectures talking about nothing important really. She reads off of her powerpoints (available online) and her powerpoints are straight from the book. Going to class is not necessary to get an A.

the material is interesting, her lectures are okay but not super dynamic or interesting, she seems like a chill lady but chill aint enough to keep you excited about goin to class, therefore i ditch it all the time... i just read the book some and go over her online powerpoint presentations the night before tests and im doin fine

Do not take this class. All the class is about is how awful the US and capitalism are. Entire class is devoted to the diatribes of the "powerless" and the tyrrany of the "Upper Class". Besides this, the professor is extremely hard to understand and lectures are very hard to follow. She never stays on task.

Lectures and presentations rough outlines of the text; outlining and reading text on your own is sufficient for passing the examinations; has a Jamaican accent but is understandable; do not take if the social sciences aren't your "thing" --- you might end up too confused for your own good; in-class documentaries are well worth watching.

Prof. Green is one of the best profs at U.Pitt today..if you feel you didn't get anything out of her courses its probably because you didn't try...she's also more supportive, intelligent, and engaging than pretty much any prof I've had at Pitt! Go Cecilia!

Good use of Blackboard (we were required to write an online memo every class). Most of the class were taken by the discussions and student presentations. This could have been a boring class, but a combination of prof and student initatives made it quite interesting. Above the average.

not hot at all. i fall asleep in class almost every day, and theres no incentive to stay awake because she rarely covers material that shows up in the exams. exam questions are too ambiguous and not clear, and you have no chance to argue your answer or get a clear explanation
