Many of the negative comments here make sense. Its really hard to defend a CS teacher that thinks writing essays and giving presentations about programming concepts is a good way for us to learn them. The exams are straight forward but prepare to google since the lectures do not offer much value.

She is bad at teaching. She will not do any work, especially since she has tenure. She rarely grades anything, and doesn't prepare lectures. Her experience is out of date, and she is horrible at teaching the few things she does know. Other than that, she is really nice and (I think) she cares about educating. She just needs to be held accountable.

I had to deal with her for many courses. She's just terrible. Really nice lady, and (I think) she does care about educating her students. She's just a terrible teacher. She's too old and out of date, and she refuses to do any work (like grading or preparing lectures). But she has tenure, so just kiss up to pass her classes. It's sad, I know.

Took multiple classes from this tenured teacher. She's just terrible, but they can't just get rid of her. She is friendly and (I think) she cares about her students education, she's just a terrible teacher with ancient experience that no longer applies. She refuses to actually do her job as a teacher, so just kiss up and pass her classes.

The frosh seminar course seemed a little discordant through the semester but the grading of the papers was fair, I thought. Perhaps the course could have been better with a few more previews of what the CS/SE program looks like in the junior & senior levels so the students know what they're really getting into.
