Chalfant is pretty old, but she was a great teacher. There was never any written homework, only short readings. All readings were interesting. She gave 3 papers that only had to be 3 pages. And during the workshops for the papers she basically wrote your paper for you! She is always willing to help. I received an A on EVERYTHING! Great teacher!!

Overall a great teacher. She can be boring,but if you answer her questions & act interested then she likes you and will help you. Hardy is definately her expertise (she missed the first week of class to fly to England to present a paper on him)Shes very smart and will help you if you ask for it.I liked her class alot & would reccomend her to anyone

Dr. Chalfant is a fairly easy grader, but she's a bit monotone, so it's easy to nod off in class. She summarizes everything for you, so you don't really have to read anything. Test questions can be either very specific or very vague.

She hands out A's like Halloween candy. I can't believe all the comments about how hard she is. You barely have to read because she summarizes in class and then tests on facts. No critical interpretation. No, how could this be read through a feminist lens? Just simple stuff. If you take notes...you should get an "A."

Dr. Chalfant is a great professor. She truly cares about each student and their grades. She helped me greatly improve my writing. She's a little old fashioned and comes off strict at first, but if you make an effort she will go out of her way for you.

Very boring, and kinda rude.. Its not hard to pass but easy to sleep since she spoke so much.. You must ask her to use the restroom( i thought that was crazy) but she`s easy to butter up, so keep that in mind..

She does get a bit distracted and off track at times. However, if you take notes and reread the material before the test you'll be fine.She gives essay style tests. Well, I don't even know where to start. She talks more about what we're going to do than actually doing it. We got behind on everything because she "lolly gags" about everything! She's unspecific of deadlines. Grades tests very critically. And blames everything on her "disability", which I'm unsure what her disability is. I don't recommend her.

she is a hard teacher. it is very hard to get an "A" in the class. she told me it was an accomplishment to get a "C" in the class. she will help you if she is in good mood. she does proofread papers and there are workshop days. i would not reccomend her.

I loved Chalfant so much, that I took her 2 times for Engl 1101 & 1102. She's the best english teacher there! She is willing to help you with anything, especially if you get to know her a little. Very caring lady, I would recommend her to anyone! Got A's in both classes!

The best english teacher in the department! Not very easy but she is willing to work with you and she lets you revise your papers! If you shoe that you are trying and taking an interest in your work then she will help in class! Not much out of class time to help students! I would recommend her!
