I suggest getting online version of book! Attendance is mandatory and lectures can be quite boring at times. However a pretty easy class. He offers extra credit and dont slack on quizzes and reflections! He really understands what hes talking about and even wrote the book we have to purchase. He loves students to actively participate!

Fairly easy class, but the workload can be overwhelming at times. It's mainly self-taught because he lectures off what EXACTLY the book says, so he doesn't go into deep detail on certain topics. He's also very mellow which makes his lectures hard to listen to.

I thoroughly enjoyed having Dr. Turner as a professor. He assigns interesting readings and encourages meaningful discussions among students. He definitely has high expectations, but if you put in the effort, you'll do fine!

I enjoyed Turner, but not the class. I was already very familiar with the material. Not his fault! He's friendly, wants you to get an A, and uses current events in class. Get the book! You only REALLY need it for a few of the weekly writings, but it gives you online access to flashcards that contain all the material for the online tests! USE IT.

This class was fair, but I wouldn't say it was difficult. Some books are difficult but the concepts come right out of the books. I enjoyed this class and would recommend. Professor really knows subject matter. Assignments are fine if you keep up; last assignment must be thought out carefully. Will another class from him.

I had such a huge crush on him, but I will NEVER admit if anyone asks! He has a good sense of humor but is also your standard geeky political scientist. He's great at answering emails and addressing student concerns. Keep up on the reading and you'll be ok.

All you have to do is read and take notes from the book. On the quizzes you get to use your notes on the quizzes, just study them before the tests (no notes) and it'll be fine. Very few assignments otherwise. He is kinda soft spoken, but has a good sense of humor too...at least I'm entertained...

He does his work as a professor. He is really picky on writing assignments, which I learn a lot from it. His lecture might be kind of boring, but you know it's politics. He seems not to be too contemporary, very old-fashioned examples of politics.

Some people describe him as boring, but he is one of the best professors at chico state. He returned all writing assignments the very next class period (which means he works his ass off). He's a great teacher and always available to help, though he can be stand-offish
