He was horrible! Hope he never comes back, he was the only one available when I took the class. Grades really hard, not easy to understand, makes no sense, doesn't help w/ labs, leaves after he lectures the lab for 30 mins! Pop quizes on material the class doesn't understand, and on info we never even covered. Don't even think of not attending!!!!!

If you have had a good sense of physics already, it is really challenging to get A from this class.

Ditto the guy who said you will do fine if you have a degree. Ditto the guy who said he knows a lot but doesn't teach well. Ditto the guy who said he makes poor tests. This guy teaches WAY over the top for a 101 class. He is the hardest professor I've had in 3 years of college (on an entry level course!!!!)

Frye is extremely bright no doubt, but cannot seem to bring it down to a college student level, especially considering we're only in 101!! Often disappears during lab (which are graded harsh) Random quizzes in class, sometimes not even from current info. Very hard to maintain a decent grade for an average student who's not a physics major!!

I think his class is not that bad. I really learn something from him! Phy 101 will be easy if you really read the book. The exams are from study questions and quizs. The lab may be hard for those who are not science major, but he'll help you if you don't get it.

He is very smart but lacks teaching skills. He explains the lesson as if you already have a graduate degree in astronomy. It was disappointing.

He spends hours doing one simple problem because he confuses himself,it takes 3 boards to answer 2+2. He also lectures on the labs for like 1/2 the time, when it could really take 30 minutes if he just let us do it. He also grades very harshly and its like impossible to get an A, even if you study!

This guy was a Horrible Teacher. He is one of those teachers who makes tests more about test taking skills than about knowing the material. After passing out the syllabus his communication was practically non-existent. Do not waste your time on this professor.

He is a funny and helpful teacher if you try to learn physics. The lab was easy and interesting because he explained in details. I could learn quite a lot from his class. But, the exam was a bit tricky.

I don't know about PHY 201 but 101 was very interesting and a great learning experience. Frye's lectures are clear and concise, exams and labs are fair, and he's definitely approachable. I recommend him for PHY 101.

He has no idea what it means to be a teacher. You know something's wrong when 10/30 students are left and the highest grade he gives on a lab report is a 75, and refuses to curve.

He has no business being a teacher... but for some reason, he has managed to stick around Nova for over 0.3 X 10^2 years!!
