Charlie was my first professor in this department and what he taught me will always be the basis of my work. His crits were uncompromising;He was tough, difficult, sometimes cruel. He was right. Thanks Charlie. We'll miss you.

Overall I disliked his teaching methods. He was unclear, disrespectful to his students and couldn't tell a good painting from a child's drawing. Perhaps there is some mysterious reason why everyone is drawn to him in the design dept. But I however don't see the advantages of taking his class again. Gave good one on one feedback though after class.

Although he takes forever to get started, you'll enjoy every minute of when he talks to you. doesn't take BS and has a keen sense of it. honest and has strong convictions though he can love something you do one week then pan it the next. if you like awesome old guys hes the teacher for you.

I love him! He is the symbol of Graphic design in Pratt. Goslin makes me think as I'm a designer. He has really unique sense of humour, but he doesn't mean to make fun of you or tease you. And when you are in critique, focus on what he says. BTW, he falls in love with Bergen Bagles' hot corn muffin and, sweet and light coffee.

I didn't know what I had until it was gone. It was always a love-hate relationship with him. He's all about the graphic symbols, what he's know for. He's looking for something in particular and if you don't have it, you suck and he'll tell you to your face.

The first grade I received from Goslin was an "F". It took me some time to figure out exactly what he was teaching, but once I found out, I was creating something brilliant for every assignment. I credit him for making me "see" beyond fluff. His integrity and soul for design and art is stronger than anyone I've ever met.

He's got a very specific sense of humour. you either love it or hate it. He doesn't mean any personal harm when criticizing your work but if you take whatever he says personally, start getting offended and show it obviously, he'll get bored and nasty. he's a good piece of graphic design history that you should try to learn from. his advices aren't superficial, if you know how to listen, you really can learn a lot about simple yet sofisticated design with a solid concept behind it.

Goslin is to say the least a mix. He makes you think like a designer and believes in "challenges" (they were) He'll even put in extra out of class time to help you. And because of this I learned much from him. However, to take advantage of this quality prof. put your ego to the side!

Goslin was winning awards before your parents were born. Meaning: he's really good. Also meaning: he's pretty old. Check your ego at the door and let him CRITIQUE your work; he can be pretty cutting but he's usually right. Otherwise "like the civilized people we are, we will agree to disagree"

He's good enough I suppose. His comments help. If he could keep his eyes off of some of the student's asses for five minutes he might be more useful though.
