It is unfortunate that this instructor is still employed. He is a bitter and unhappy person who brings unhappiness to his classroom.

He contradicted himself all the time, only used his "notes" to teach the class and made frequent errors in his own methods! Made you feel like crap too...As a response to a question about his current status, a reliable source at the career center told me "he is no longer working with the college" although i see him milling about from time to time.

this is a class where attendence and homework are something that NEED to be done. you really can't skip a day and expect to know your ass from a hole in the ground in that class. logical argumentation is a really hard class to wrap your mind around. i did well simply because i only 5 credits that semester (and had more time to devote to his class)

Awful class, out of the 30 or so students that started off in the class- only 14 remained after the first class. He tries, it just doesn't happen.

I agree- this is by far the worst professor at KSC. He was so boring, I wanted to stick my pencil into my eye for amusement. Horrible, Horrible lecturer. Spent more then 1/2 the time talking to the chaukboard. He made everything so confusing and illogical. Not recommended for those weak at heart.

i took his logical argumentation class and literally wanted to die...he sucked sooo bad at teaching and everytime i would ask a question i would just get more confused with the answer. DO NOT take this class, you are setting yourself up for a bad grade. its impossible to do well because everything you learn is a contradiction to the text book.

Hornbeck sucked. He was unprepared, unclear, inarticulate, not willing to help, not good at answering your questions, low patience level.

ABSOULTLY the worst class at KSC. Basically avoid this teacher with everything you have. The only reason anyone passed his class was because the SI was amazing.

Horrible teacher. Does not eplain material well and shouldn't be teaching at all, he should be on PBS raising money instead at least that way you could hit mute. His voice will put you to sleep within minutes. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS

HORRIBLE! Even his wife tells students to not take his classes! Exams run over alloted class time although you're not allowed extensions out of class to finish, unless you stay to finish and miss your next class...confusing, inconsiderate and a walking contradiction...lost all interest in the topic.

Sense and Nonsense was a boring class. Boring boring. It was easy though. Unless you have your head up your ass and don't do the homework (which is clearly outlined) you'll get an easy A.

Hornbeck definitely knows the material very well- he's been teaching it for 30 years. However, that doesn't mean that he's a good teacher. It's all about good communication, especially in a class like logic that is traditionally difficult. He lacks that.
