His lectures can be dull. Homeworks were time consuming and often difficult, but if you understand the homework really well, you should be able to get a good grade in the class. His tests are difficult as well but thats more because of the material and not the style of his tests. He gives a decent curve. Overall, an ok professor.

Amazing class. Lectures make you really understand the subject. Assignments can turn out to be very time consuming and tough. Exams are probably very very hard. Sample exams might not give a proper indication of the real exam.

Martel is a concise, clear, and great lecturer. If you attend class regularly, you should be able ot get the bulk of the material. The Data Algorithms book is a solid text as well. Hw and tests are indeed challening however, so you must work hard.

Excellent, intelligent lecturer. Explains extremely complex subject matter in a clear, concise way. However: his homework assignments are very, very time consuming and challenging. Don't take his classes at the same time as other hard classes.
