Took for a Leadership class. Almost EXACTLY the same material as the Team and Group Processes class with him. Similar lecturesmaterial. Same stories. Samesimilar reading. Same project(got same section AGAIN luckily,so just used my previous notes. Different movies though,with long papers to write. Sorta funnyinteresting. Looks like Elton John...

Phenomenal teaching style great sense of humor extremely interesting to listen to Be ready to put everything into his class he expects you to strive for excellence in all that you do. Dr. Matthews is probably the most difficult professor in the school of business. If you are a slacker or are stupid you will not get an A in this class. If you are intelligent and are willing to work hard, you will get a lot out of Dr. Matthew's classes.

EXTREMELY UNCLEAR in what he wants. Never gives you directions on assignments then screws you over when you didn't do it his way. Sends out emails Sunday night and expects yo to have the homework done the next day for class. Never disagree with him even if you know and can prove you are right. First test avg was a 66.never actually teaches anything

EXTREMELY UNCLEAR! Nice guy, keeps the class involved, but is very vague on his expectations from the students. If you want a decent grade, you have to try to personally get to know him. Uses 2 books and you have to write tedious journals. Doesn't post grades. Take him if you want to make a friend. Knows a lot of people in the working world.

He is a pretty cool guy and he wants to fix you because everyone is apparently broken. I did learn a good bit of information from him that will benefit my future. His grading system is terrible tho and does not let you know how you are doing so if you are a straight A student be prepared to potentially get screwed.

DO NOT TAKE! he is not clear on what he expects from his students at all in this class. he makes you do journals that are to be turned in and graded but he isn't clear on what he wants in them and is inconsistent in grading them absolutely the worst learning experience i have had at FGCU he is unprepared and messy do yourself a favor and stay away!

Prof Mathews is definitely non-traditional in his teaching methods, but you will be challenged to actually do some thinking. By far, the most interesteing class I have taken. Highly recommend!

Dr Mathews was one of my Business Profs at California Lutheran Univ in the early 90s. His classes were always easy, but not due to the content, but rather his approach to teaching them. He was hands down my favorite prof I had between three colleges I had transfered between. I encourage anyone who has the opportunity to take his classes.

fun class but not does not follow any traditional rules, no tests or quizzes and assignments and hw are relatively easy some are just art projects. the class requires you to think though and is based mostly around discussion. you will get out of it what you put in. its an easy A but really a class to teach you about who you are and where youre goin

Mathews is one of the best Professors by far at FGCU. He makes you think outside the box and even lets you write your own syllbus as a class (at least when I was there in 2005) Bottom line his class makes you think about your life's direction. If your not prepared to do that don't take his class. And yes, he is big on being on time to class.

I love Dr. Matthews, he really tries to make the information relevant and tells alot of stories that help you remember it. He is very concerned with group work, which helps. Very smart man.
