He is an amazing guy!Extremely knowledgeable and very worldly-wise.I've never hoped that geogr. class can be this interesting.If you like learning,if you like knowing about other countries,cultures and history...take Dr.Schmidt.You'll learn and you'll be proud of yourself. He is what every prof. should be. A funny and warm, sharp-witted individual!

I liked him a lot. He's a very worldly man with a lot of experience. I got an A with very little studying (a day or two before exams) but I already had a good background in history and the world. Paying attention in class is necessary. If you know nothing about the world you WILL need to take ownership of your knowledge. Grades are based on exams.

Professor is very smart and worldly. He is a good teacher and very clear on what to do to earn a good grade in his class. The key is to do a lot of studying and you will finish the class with a good grade and a lot of knowledge about the subject matter.

This guy really knows his stuff. If you want to learn more than where cities are on the map, he's the one for you. It's a lot of work and attendance is manditory to do well. His note are very important in the tests. It is very rewarding if you are willing to do the work.

Babbles on during class, if you have no knowledge of history you will be lost in his geography lectures. Buy the study guide and work out everything that he asks for, you will do well. Likes to ask for little details that you do not pay attention to. I had an A, but it was a lot of work.

My overall impression of the class is ok. The tests are a little hard but the professor tries his best to help the students. Tests are composed of blind maps and he gives a paper with terms that have to be put on the right place on the map. Memorize where everything is on the map (that is discussed in class) and you will be ok.

So far this semester I've had 4 1/2 "free periods" where he wants us to just sit in class and read the book while he grades papers. His lectures are pretty scattered and not very cohesive. There is alot of self-study required but his quizes are easy and his papers are graded easily.

Awesome teacher, he makes everything very cool and easy to understand. Tests are little hard, but if you pay attention in class and study you will get an A. He will help you with anything. Take him. More teachers like that!!!
