Comment:
Eyster is extremely boring when he lectures. Took this Senior Seminar class in my final semester and it completely ruined my last month. He will shred your papers if you don't do exactly what he wants. He tries to be funny, but is overall pretty weird. Tough class, not much HW except two big assignments. Doesn't grade anything until final day.

you will like this class if you like to read. the writing that goes along with it is a little challenging because he expects you to put forth effort and challenge yourself. very nice and approachable guy though. be prepared to actually read and spend time to write and you will do fine.

Had him for three classes in '00 and '01. Best professor of my college career. He helped develop my writing skills by giving me outside resources and helpful feedback. If you are serious about a quality education and are willing to put in a lot of effort - I highly recommend him for any class.

Good teacher. Tries to be funny. Lots of reading, mostly poetry. If you like to read, then it's a breeze. Go to class, write reaction papers (10 of them), write major essay, and take the final. If you do all that, you should get a good grade.

A really good teacher. He does have a high standard, but he's very clear about what he expects and is extremely helpful about giving feedback and answering questions. Really a dry subject turned into fun class. I highly recommend taking his class if you get the opportunity.

Dr. Eyster is a really great instructor. He can be a little boring at times but he tries to inject humor in his lessons - so maybe it's just the subject matter and not his fault! He does expect attendance and for you to do the work as laid out in the syllabus. I enjoyed the class very much and I hope to have him again! Very nice guy!

Faulkner and Morrison can be difficult authors, but he is helpful in illuminating them. Typical assignments--in and out of class responses, critical paper, and presentation. Rough reading list but manageable if you give yourself enough time.

A decent course with a reasonable amount of reading and writing. He is sometimes critical of students' writing but willing to help you improve. Keeps in touch with you after course is over, will stop you and ask you how things are going and makes himself available for help. Portfolio grading syst
