He is fun and passionate about what he teaches. Lectures are almost always him explaining things, writing on board, etc., but they're often pretty interesting and he explains and (if needed) reviews things understandably. Labs are very interactive. He rarely gives HW - only a couple of things for lab. We never have to do reading outside of class.

He was an amazing professor, definitely not very easy, but always willing to help you if you don't do well. Takes a lot of time to answer individual questions in order to make things clear for students. Very passionate about his job and his focus of study. Highly recommend.

Professor Zwemer is by far the best professor I have had at Dickinson. He is so passionate and knowledgable. Yes, his course in vertebrate biology is very challenging and you have to stay on top of the material, but he makes the class so engaging. If you are looking for a worthwhile biology class at Dickinson, take one of his classes.

Although this course is intro to bio, its pretty difficult. The professor doesnt really spend any time with background information, he rather just get straigght into it and assume everyone is a biologist. stay clear of Zwemers classes if you are not 100% sure biology is your thing, he is also not very helpful during office hours, but has passion.

this man is a living legend. i hate, HATE bio and hes still my fav prof at ****inson. he actually made me want to to go to class. i bombed his first test and he was so helpful after the fact that i blazed through the next two with solid A's. have life at extremes if u get the chance!!!

Great professor. Loves the class and the subject, barely needs his notes. Class is very interesting, especially the labs. This class made me want to be a bio major. Make sure you study a lot-the tests are about 20 MC questions, and not easy. Highly recommend this class

Fantastic teacher. His excitement for the subject kept lectures very interesting. The only thing about his class that I disliked was the fact that all the tests were multiple choice, with only about 20 questions...meaning that if you got even four questions wrong, you're automatically down to an 80.

fantastic attitude, laid-back, extremely funny, very knowledgeable (2... yeah, not 1 but 2 phDs), willing to help you if you get confused... not much reading, but lecture notes and labs are crucial because his tests are rough (without being ridiculous). great guy.

One of the best lecturers I've had. Not only are they funny and interesting, but he makes things very clear and fun to learn. His tests are challenging, but I would definitely recommmend taking a bio course from this guy. It's totally worth it.
