Her lectures drone on, and one must force themselves to pay attention. She has clicker questions that she uses them to grade participation, but only randomly checks. Her tests are difficult and require many hours of study. She also enjoys questions with multiple correct answers, one is just more correct. Must rewrite notes and read book to pass.

This class is way too difficult for a 100 level class. The exams are so much harder than they should be, and lab reports are graded very strictly. Redoing the Prep-U quizzes multiple times and thoroughly re-reading the chapters for the exams is a great strategy. Turn in your assignments on time. There is a monstrous late-deduction (50%!)

Her class is extremely boring and long. She is very nice but she tends to go off topic and the lectures don't really help with the tests at all. Her tests are pretty tough for a level 100 class, the only way to do well is to read the book and remember every single detail. Definitely take this class with another professor if possible.

Prof B was good. Knew what she's talking about but the lectures can be vague because she goes off on tangents and the powerpoints are not detailed at all so it's hard to go back and see what she was talking about. Very nice though

If you show up to lecture and bring your clicker you will be fine. Clicker questions are counted whether you are wrong or not but if you don't show up you could be loosing anywhere from 2-10 points. Make sure you go to lab and don't forget deadlines. There is a prep-u quiz once a week and 4 journal entries due without reminders.

Easy if you listen in class. Labs and journals are completely passable even if you bs a little.

So, just a head's up, if you have a tough time in biology this class IS NOT FOR YOU. Her classes are HUGE, and it's very difficult to stay awake. Her tests are so so hard, the only thing you can do to pass is read the text book. She's a nice woman, but I don't like her teaching methods or how long the lab reports have to be. Not worth the time or $

I enjoyed her class. She is such a sweet soul. She tries to make the lectures as entertaining as she can with the help of videos and her side comments about the subject. There are 4 Labs throughout the semester and 4 journal entries that are submitted around the test date. She is always there to help her students- through email & in person!

Borgeson's class was one of my hardest classes because of the tests she gives. They are each like 60 questions long, and they are very hard because of how they are worded. She provides a lot of homework like a quiz every week and journal entries. Also, the lab reports you have to write are insanely long and time consuming

This class isn't as hard as people say. Borgeson doesn't always go in-depth in her lectures but if you read the textbook, her lectures and the book go well with each other. The simple explanation given in lecture and the detailed in the book. If you put in the extra work, it will be worth it and you will get an A because you will know the info.

Dr. B is very passionate about micro, but sucks at teaching it. The book was a life savior! Her tests would have mistakes in them and some questions would be keyed wrong and she wouldn't give you credit for them.. Your grade would fluctuate and it was the most stressful science class I've ever taken, and I've taken 400 level chem and bio classes.

The lectures can be unclear so use the textbook and prep-U to make good grades. I aced every test by reading the textbook. People who don't do well are the same ones who don't put in any effort outside of going to lecture. Borgeson is nice and will help you if you go to her and she gives extra credit. This class is very passable with some effort.

This class was probably one of the hardest in terms of tests. Her lectures are boring and none of it really relevant to the test. Reading the book is a must if you expect to do well on the test.

Awful professor. Her tests are extremely hard for a 100-level class, especially one where not many people in it are actually Bio majors. Her lectures are unhelpful and almost no test questions are pulled directly from lectures - they're pulled from high mastery levels on Prep-U even though you're only required to get to level 3 for quiz credit.

Very poor teaching she does not wait for clarification and was very random and side tracked with her powerpoints. Avoid at all costs.

Everyone seems to hate her, but I liked her. It's not an easy A, but you can't expect to get through college without a little work. Tests are a little challenging but there are other assignments to help with your grade. Labs and other assignments are easy. Go to lecture because she gives tons of good information and there are clicker questions.

You need to go to class and take EXCELLENT notes. Her tests are hard and full of trick questions. The lab is easy but the lab tests are ridiculous. You will need to work to get an A in this class, and you will definitely need to read the book

The only thing difficult about this class are the tests... The labs homework and attendance are very reasonable and easy to get a good grade in. But the tests are challenging. Somehow i scraped by with an A, but i think thats because she curved the tests at the end of the semester. I would recommend.

Nice, but condescending, especially when you ask questions. Too much sass and not helpful. Not only that but her workload is too much and irrelevant for 100 level, just a bunch of busy work. She never talks about what is on the test, but expects you to be prepared. She also changes what's going to be on the test the day before, too unorganized.

Borgeson absolutely loves bio and is very informative on the subject, but her lectures need some serious improvement. Not only boring, but they represent zero of the actual test. Everything is online or from the book. She wasn't too difficult, but studying for the tests was a nuisance.
