Before this class, I was planning on taking Global Development as my major, but taking this class with Cherie has made me seriously reconsider. She is unclear in expectations and instructions, unorganized both in class and online, and on top of that is a very hard marker. She is an extremely nice person, but a terrible university professor.

I was really excited at first about this class only to find out that by the end Of the semester I dread it. Cherie is very unorganized, hard to understand, unclear on what she wants, and really hard to talk too. If she doesnt agree with your ideas she just ignores them. Most of her classes are on why you should continue in GDS than the material

Her classes lack structure and are never clear. She's very kind and her classes are always easy to pass as long as you participate and do your work, but I would never take a class with her again.

I took an online class with Cherie and it was a little scattered- she isn't the most organized person BUT her caring and knowledge make up for it! She marks super easily and will answer your emails quickly, definitely a good prof, just be ready to ask for clarification.

I love Cherie! There was never really a formal lecture, however I kind of liked that as it made class more enjoyable. We went on 2 field trips and they were actually really fun and interesting! Midterm was a bit confusing due to the fact we didn't have a formal lecture but other than that I would 100% take her again! She's also a fair marker.

Very nice lady, knows her stuff, easy marker. She has lot of experience in the field for sure. Her assignments can be a little confusing, she can be all over the place sometimes. But she is responsive to emails, so whenever I needed clarification she offered a good re explanation. Would take her class again

Absolutely could not follow what she was saying in this class, ever. The textbook was incredibly heavy and five classes in still did not have a formal lecture. She looked lost and so did the rest of the students. Lots of people dropped out. Not worth your time.

I have taken three classes with Cherie. At first i did not like her disorganization but once you get used to her style her classes can be GPA boosters. She teaches applied skills and is very knowledgeable in real world problems. I have learned so much from her. My last geography class i took with her to finish my geog minor and got an A.

This was the most confusing class I've ever taken. It was online and so unorganized. Pieces of info about one assignment would be in four different places and you never knew what the criteria even was. She's very scatterbrained, but the course itself was very easy. Just clarify with her on a regular basis for sure.

Cherie is amazing! I've had her for a few classes. Once you get used to her teaching style, you can really get a lot out of her classes. I'd say you get out as much as you put in. She is a great connection if you want to do an internship or practicum. She really cares about being a mentor to her students and wants everyone to succeed.

I heard she is great in the classroom but ONLINE does not suit her teaching style. Difficult to get good marks despite vague requirements - had to check bb many times a day. Most marks given at the very end so you couldnt learn from your mistakes. Also no feedback. Maybe took on too much? It was her first online class. Interesting subject though.

Cherie does not have the typical teaching style, which I love. Experience and participation is more important to her than lectures and papers. Easy to get a good grade in her class if you try. I would definitely take another class with her!

Cherie is great a great prof to have, especially if your interests are in cities and planning. She has a wealth of knowledge and knows a lot of people, so her connections can help you if you make an effort to connect with her. Teaching style is different than the standard prof, but practical.

I've had Cherie for lots of classes now, she is a great professor and knows her stuff. Class often includes field trips and guest speakers as she likes to make the learning applicable to real life. Not too difficult to get a good grade, just show interest and put in a decent effort, you don't have to be a genius. Ask her for clarity if you need it.

Cherie is not only an amazing prof but a great person. She really cares the subject matter and her students. She is always willing to help when she can. Your emails are always answered. I will recommend taking as many classes as you can with her. The projects that you complete are great if grad school is in your future.

although syllabus and schedule may change through the semester, guest lecturers make lessons more valuable then simply rewriting powerpoint slides. Cherie wants her students to do well so if you put in the effort she will reward you with a good grade. I take all of Cheries classes, and learn more valuable lessons than in other classes.

Once i got used to Cherie's unorganized style of teaching, i really loved the freedom we had. if something interests you, then go with it, and you will get a good mark at the end! Don't sweat the small stuff with Cherie, it will all be done in the end!

Cherie is a FABULOUS professor! While the classes may be (somewhat) disorganized, she is very helpful if you just ask! Those who take a class with her will either do great or not-so-great. The class was interesting and the field trip was fun.
