Worst class i have taken at colgate 100% because of Cheryl Long. She is completely unclear in her explanations and diction. Anyone who disagrees with her reasoning she spurns and is biased against the rest of the semister, and is totally unable to back up her contentions. dont know how she got a job at Colgate an embarassment to the department.

She is truly amazing. Not only is she fair, crystal-clear, and helpful, but she taught us on realistic issues. I am so grateful I took Core China with her, no one else. I do not understand the below rating, since she values cultural aspects and balanced out econ. I am not at all an econ person, but she was so helpful that it never hurt me.

No good for Core China. She only cares about economics and virtually ignores history, philosophy, religion, etc. Spent half of semester on econ. Only take if in love with econ. She's very uppity and it can get on nerves. Work wasen't hard. Made us go see lots of movies.

Great class, but you need to take econ and law 320 as prereq. She is extremely smart, though might be a little bit boring. The senior seminar is enjoyable and the material is not very hard. She is helpful and approachable beyond belief.

She is a very good professor. Very smart. Some people don't like her, but they are stupid. Her classes are difficult but she will help you out. Example - I got a 54 on a Stats test and she let me retake it. I had her for Econ stats and Econ Law.
