This class was both fun and interesting, and that was because of Anderson. If you missed a class, you could still get the PowerPoint slides online, but if you dont have his commentary linking the slides together, you wont be ready for the test. Funny guy, very insightful, and he doesnt push religion on any of his students.

Proselytizes shamelessly in class. What's worse is that it isn't even his official religion (which -- though I am NOT religious, and didn't enjoy having shoved in my face rather than examined as per the syllabus -- he constantly misrepresents). It's his OWN, personal take on things. He's unclear, passive-aggressively mean, and goes easily off-topic

Very hard to follow. Gets very off track often which makes it even harder to follow what is happening. Goes super fast which makes it even harder to follow. Nice guy though and very smart

The class was fun to attend, and you cover a lot of information but I never felt overwhelmed. He gives reading assignments every class, normally 10-20 pages that you talk about in class, tests cover what was discussed in class, and you get notes for the tests. He's pretty understanding and flexible if you talk to him about what's going on.

Most humble man I have ever met! Helps you study for the 3 exams. In class work is not hard but makes you critically think. Keeps everyone interested pretty well.

He's a great teacher if you can get on his good side, do the readings every day, and always show up to class (on time). However, there are definitely parts to his personality that are a little harsh, as during one office hours visit he told me that I was unfit to be in my major because of some grammar mistake on an informal paper we wrote.

He's a Catholic Deacon, and though his lectures may seem a little preachy, he does a good job at relating them to overall topics we are discussing.

There wasn't as much discussion about the Bible as I would have expected for a Bible as Literature course, mostly heard about the professor's opinions and beliefs. It didn't help to ask questions, still confused.

Going to his office for help is a further opportunity for him to ridicule students. If asked to go to his office again, I would RUN.

If he wasn't so explosive with his temper and practiced some understanding, I think he could be a good professor. The good qualities he has are overshadowed by his lack of humanity.

The class would be more interesting if Chris didn't cloud it with his own beliefs and was able to make himself clear. It's difficult to follow his thoughts, and it becomes even more difficult to figure out what he wants in assignments. Going to his office doesn't help. I agree with others: he has his favorites, has a tempter, and isn't helpful.

He does teach the class like a sermon, but that's because he's a Catholic Deacon. I enjoy the way he speaks because it makes the material more interesting. His tests are really easy and he makes it a point to tell us what they will be over. I would recommend taking a class from him.

It's a fairly easy class, don't skip. He contradicts himself often, and it's hard to understand what his expectations are for assignments; he basically told our class that we we're the worst ("but it wasn't our fault!")... Doesn't directly answer questions.

Very interesting class! You MUST go to class, do the readings, and follow the directions to get an A, but that's about it. If you don't try or try and BS, he'll see straight through you and serve it right back. Just do the little work there is plus the readings and it's an easy A.

This prof seemed interesting and nice. However, he has an extremely bad temper. After I missed one class and went to his office hours he belittled me, and had already emailed me to continue by the time I got home. He advised me to drop out of college. He admitted later to having lost his temper, but it was still a terrible experience. Avoid

Dr. Anderson says one thing and means something completely different. He believes he is clear in what he is saying, but isn't. He has his favorites. He offers to them what he will not offer to others. I thought his religion would at least make him fair. I was wrong. He wasn't a good example of a Christian, just another prof with favorites.

Comment:
Professor Anderson is a little unorthodox for some people, but very enthusiastic and humorous. He is fairly subjective in his lectures, but also incredibly insightful. Usually his lectures are fun and interesting. As long as you put forth an effort, you'll get a good grade. He likes it when people are vocal in class and talk to him after.

Horrible experience. Gave absolutely no feedback with a 'C-' paper (3 times). Had no way of knowing how to improve on the next papers. Plays favorites, is very egocentric and bases everything around religion.

His grading is subject to way too much variation, based on what I think is his mood at the time. He has an attitude as well.
