Prof. Barker was AWESOME. He could be a bit moody, but he was really a cool guy. I really enjoyed his semantics lectures. He was fun. The homework was rough. It seemed so easy at first, but was tricky. Luckily, he was very helpful during office hours. I wish I could have taken another class with him, but he moved to NY. He will be missed!

The first half of the quarter will put you to sleep. But once you get past the homomorphism stuff the rest is actual codemaking and breaking. You can get by really easily without the readings. Your grade is based on retakable online quizzes, a midterm, and a final. Take it for a gpa booster.

Really fun lectures, although he's so upbeat and wired it can make you a little uneasy. You have to attend lecture, there is no section, no reading. Anal about punctuality, but it's common courtesy, so I can forgive that. Small class, so participate and learn something. He's freaking brilliant
