Comment:

Do NOT take him! I carried an A the whole semester and then took the final and got a C. The highest grade on the final in my class was in the 60s (it dropped EVERYONES grade). Gives 1 question quiz to check attendance and see if youve done the homework. Its 1 random problem from the homework. take Mr. Kunkel for stats!

Comment:

I liked Caldwell as a professor. When he teaches, he would teach most of it but not all the material so the math lab helps a lot. He gives a small 1 question quiz at the beginning of every class. There is a lot of homework and it isn't mandatory but it helps with the quizzes; sometime it is the same question as one from the homework or similar.

Stats is a really hard class, but he makes it a lot clearer. There are quizzes everyday, but it is only one problem from the homework. So you have to do your homework everyday. The tests are pretty hard. He is always there to help and likes it when you ask questions. So I would for sure recommend him for stats 210

Each class he grades one homework problem to prove you did the hw. You can use a calculator function for almost all problems so the class is pretty easy even if you don't fully get the concepts. He doesn't write the tests but he prepares you for them well. We learned how to do problems but not the meaning behind them so I don't feel I gained much.

Dr. Caldwell seems to be very nice but his teaching isn't really that great. He sometimes does the math wrong and is very confusing. If you study hard you can pass.

Dr. Caldwell is a nice man, but he doesn't care about his students. His notes aren't helpful or detailed. He gets confused about stuff when he is teaching and does the math wrong occasionally. You pretty much are on your own to figure it out. Overall its a roughly easy class, and if you study hard and teach yourself you can pass a test.

Dr. Caldwell is for sure a jolly guy, but his teachings are very confusing. He has a hard time breaking down things which has caused me to not pass any test. And math is usually my thing! Therwe is no extra credit, and it's really every (wo)man for their self. I really wouldn't recommend anyone to this class.

Fairly good instructor, but had a hard time bringing down difficult topics to students level. He always offers to help, but he's not very straightforward. The tests were normally very similar to notes and homework.

Dr. Caldwell is very helpful. He will stay after class and explain any question and his office door is always open. You will have a daily quiz from the homework problems, so if you do the homework, you will pass the quiz! His notes are clear and will go over the material as long as you need him too! If you have to take Statistics, take him.

Comment:

A very smart man but he has trouble relaying the message to his students. Everything he taught in class I had to go back in the text book and have my boyfriend (who is a math expert) to help teach it to me so I could understand it. I struggled every day in his class and eventually lost all motivation. He was a really nice and jolly guy though.

He goes through material quickly, and sometimes makes subtle mistakes during lecture that can become very confusing. Going to his office is alright, it does help though. Overall, he isn't terrible, but not really recommended if math isn't a strong point for you.

A really nice guy, but a horrible teacher. Everything that I learned I had to teach myself or learn from someone else who had already had many upperdivision classes that helped her out. His grading policy is ridiculous!!! He grades too hard, and he doesn't do a good job of explaining things in class. EXTREMELY brilliant, but can't bring it down.

He was an okay teacher. I kind of didn't like how he rambled sometimes about dumb things. Class is mandatory because everyday you have a quiz from your homework. He seemed jolly all the time though, so it made the mood of the class a little better.

He is a very good teacher considering it was stats. He is very clear on what he expects and has a quiz a day to keep up with attendance. if you are going to take stats, take it with him. you will be glad you did.

He is a really nice person. He is really into math and is pretty good teacher. Attendance is mandatory because you will get a zero on his daily quizzes. He drops some of your quizzes and one of your test. I wouldn't mind taking him again.
