He's a very kind professor. The only reason why I got a good grade was because I TAUGHT MYSELF NEARLY EVERYTHING. His tests DONT reflect what's covered in class. He wastes SOOO much time in lecture leaving you unprepared to finish the daily homework. He seems unprepared to answer his own example problems in lecture. Would NOT recommend to anyone!

Very willing to help if you are having a hard time. Pretty quirky guy which makes class so much fun! His tests are not easy, but the reviews help a lot.

This class is pretty much a prerequisite for a lot of majors. It is not easy, he will make you work for it. For a class that everyone pretty much needs to take, he sure makes sure you know your stuff. Reading the book is must, and a lot of it is online. In his lectures he probably covers 30% of the material on the test. Oh, those are killer too.

Hansen knows what he's talking about. I loved doing the practice problems in class, and he has a really funny sense of humor, which made the class seem interesting. Take advantage of the practice exams he posts online!!

I really enjoyed his Earth Science class. He was not boring. I really liked how he put the power-point online before the class so we have the notes. I did not like the research project, seemed like a waste of time and not beneficial.

Dr. Hansen is a great professor. I'm not a huge fan of earth science, but he helped make it interesting and entertaining. He's very humorous. Tests aren't the easiest, but homework isn't bad. As long as you study and keep up with assignments, you'll do fine.

Great Teacher, Professor Hansen is passionate about science. He gives great demonstrations and fun videos to watch. He is very engaging when he teaches. Great class. However, prepare for tests and read the assigned work or you will have a difficult time passing. Aside from that worth taking earth science at southern over chatt state.

Dr. Hansen can improve his teaching style. The area which needs the most help is his test-making ability. The class work and the homework do not help you for the test because the questions are given in a completely different style. His tests are too hard and it is very hard to prepare for them because the style of them is so different.

Lots of small assignments from the textbook, but they are easy. Power point lectures, and he puts them online for later reference. Tests are multiple choice and short essay questions.

A very good professor who taught me how to think about Physics and Quantum Mechanics. He taught with a perspective that wasn't too focused on details while not fearful of them, and he managed to present ideas that appear mystical to an undergraduate as they should be: from experiment and from real physics. Now my future field of study.

He's a very nice professor who is willing to help his students in any way possible. He even records lectures! Ask him to do in-class demos! Hotness (thermal, of course)!

Easy class, fun professor. He does a few experiments in class (and messed it up in my class). Lots of assignments, but most are really easy. Research paper is harder, so start early. He's helpful and sometimes a pushover when the class majority disputes something with him. Nice guy and he's very energetic about science.
