Comment:
Gives a lot of homework that seems unnecessary and hard, and it's graded verbatim, but that's also a lot due to his reader. Attendance isn't required but there are daily clicker quizzes you get credit for. Usually late and somewhat disorganized. Definitely read the book. Gives grace, however, & is a really caring, funny, and cool person overall.

He is a good lecturer. There is homework due every class period, a report to turn in online every two days. Tests are very hard, he doesn't really tell you what to study. Has "quizzes" every class period, but to be fair is the same questions from the homework you turned in that day.

Wonderful and caring professor. Will spend extra time outside of class to help explain any questions asked. Very easy grader, and lots of extra credit. Also offered many students extensions on assignments. Would take again!

I am truly privileged to have taken this class. Sometimes I could even see the space time continuum in the reflection of his scholarly spectacles. The ghost of Einsteins smiles upon his lecture hall as he derives awe inspiring equations. I feel as if I have been in the presence of a mystical creature.

Doesn't prepare for class at all. If you want to learn anything in this class you have to read the book. He doesn't explain the theory in class at all, or give you the tools to do the homework. The test questions are fairly easy, if you have the equation sheet. Lots of extra credit. Easy A in class, but that doesn't mean you learned anything

Sometimes I had no idea what he was talking about. But he's a very gracious grader, and I got by with an A in the class. The homework questions on mastering physics was ridiculous though.

Dr. Caviness is a really nice man who will stay after class to be sure you understand a concept. Issues in Physical Science and the Bible was interesting. The videos he showed at noon were great. It will be co-taught by Dr. Bauer from now on so that should improve an already good class.

I had him for Earth Science. He very much so knows what he's talking about. He's super friendly, and cares a lot about his students and their grades. Great teacher. Take him if you can!

Okay, he might be fine for Earth Science, but he's a horrendous Engineering Mechanics teacher. He never prepared for class; he would spend the whole period working on one problem (with no explanation of concepts or theory) and send us away without an answer to the example. The students would correct him at least 3-4 times every day.

He is a very nice teacher, i took him in the summer. There is a quiz eveyday( not to worry) homework for each chapter. Sometimes he does not get your grade to you on time. His lectures are long, the class is always cold. Beside that he is an ok teacher, you'll do fine in his class, trust me

He has a lot of fun with his material and his students, a great attitude all the time. MY default his classes might be tough, but he gives a lot of leeway and tends to be behind on his own, so he gives you some slack for being behind as well.

This is a algebra based physics program, and it doesn't transfer. Plus, the teaching is below average and you'll get an A even if you don't know what you're doing.
