there are only 3 graded things in this class so if you get a slightly bad grade you'll to fail. he also does not teach at all! no videos no slideshows, nothing. it's completely self-taught. it's ridiculous. DO NOT TAKE HIM. he seems nice but I've never actually met him because he's never in the office or answers his emails. he's a terrible prof

I definitely would not tell anyone to get this professor. He does not try to help his students. This was an "online" course but the homework, which is the only online portion, is only 25% of the final grade, the midterm which is in class and 35% of the final grade, and the final exam is also in class and lengthy worth 40% of the final grade.

Very funny and knowledgeable professor. Content is hard, but he does his best at clarifying everything and answering questions. Quizzes every week and lots of opportunities to get your grades up! Would definitely take him again!

Chris is awesome! The only bad part about his class is that he is not very accessible outside of class due to his job at a high school. His class was super easy to me, but if youre not good at math/understand it easily you will be challenged.

had this class online Im sure if you had him in class it would be better but for online class he only gives homework the midterm and the exam so they weigh a lot The homework is assigned a chapter at a time and is required. If you email if that you are having trouble he acts like he doesnt want to help you. If you try setting.

Currently in this class and he has probably been the best math teacher I have ever had. He teaches high school kids during the day so he can relate to you and can break things down to make it easier. Very prompt in responding to emails and will answer and questions or do problems for you before and after class.

This was an online course but it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. The homework was tough but that was material from the textbook's publisher, not Chris. Tests were easier than the homework and the homework thoroughly prepared you. I hated the homework and did poor on certain sections but I came out with a 90 in the course.

Great guy. Most math professors at Winthrop are subpar, but he is an exception for sure. Quizzes every other class, drops lowest 4 quizzes, 4 test and a final, final can replace your lowest test grade if it is a higher score. High school teacher and he knows how to teach! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This guy is great! He will help you if you ask him and he makes everything clear and understandable. A calculator on every test and quiz so it isnt so hard. I hated and did not understand math until I took his class. Take his class you wont regret it!

Mr. Howle is absolutely wonderful. Best professor I've had at Winthrop. He helped me rediscover my love for math! He talks kind of fast, but just take notes (and study them word for word) and you'll do fine!

Mr. Howle is the BEST instructor I have ever had in college. He drops two to three of your lowest quiz grades and substitutes the final for your lowest test grade. He makes sure everyone knows the material before moving on and he is so good at explaining all of the material. I would highly recommend him to anyone who struggles with mathematics.

Mr. Howell is a FABULOUS math teacher, he is super helpful and actually cares about his students. He will go over the material as man times as you need him to. Homework is always assigned, but not taken up although it is super helpful. Oh he also gives little weekly quizzes that really help your grade.

This man is a godsend! Somehow someday he was able to get this awful math called calculus into my head and I got an even higher grade than I expected. This class is still very hard, most people have to work 5 times harder outside of class than in it but mr howle is THE ONLY professor to take for this class at Winthrop. Don't take anyone else. You still have to study, show up and bust you butt with homework and practice problems but you will pass with this guy
