Had him for 2 classes last year, AmGov and CourtsJudicial. He constantly complains about other professors who don't care about the students' education when all he does is teach off of PowerPoint. The tests had nothing to do with what he taught either. I'm a PoliSci major and did well in all my other major courses except for his. He doesn't teach

Miserable teacher. He doesn't help with questions and class is 100% monotone lecture every single day. His tests are all True/False and he isn't there half the test days so asking questions isn't an option. I despised going to this class everyday.

Great teacher. Had him at the undergrad and graduate level. He is sharp, witty, intelligent, and expects you to work. I loved all his classes. They were challenging but rewarding.

One of the funniest teachers I've ever had. Also a great teacher that knows what he's talking about and definitely makes class extremely interesting. His witty sarcasm can't be beat. As for the class itself (American gov.), not the easiest, but definitely interesting. Study hard and pay attention in class.

he's a funny guy. that's probably the only good thing i have to say. He's not clear at all in what he is teaching or whats on the tests. Had him for Am Gov and the notes had nothing to do with the tests, way too many surprise questions. also didn't seem to care much about his students, emailed him 3 times and never got a reply. would not recommend

He's actually pretty cool. I have never been interested in American Government until I had his class. He keeps my attention and is pretty funny. He does give 2 essays and 3 exams. The essays are kind of confusing on the topic but its not too hard to get through. I highly recommend him.

he is funny, entertaining, and interesting but his tests barely have anything to do with the notes. He will not tell you to read except the class before the test and makes you second guess if your studying the right material. And whole test true/false...don't take lightly. read,study,read!!!

Had him for an intro philosophy class. He is ok. He definitely knows a lot about the political world. The only thing is that he will publically put down your opinion. Otherwise, he is definitely wise in his profession. Really makes you a better student.

Best professor I have ever had. He is NOT easy by any stretch of the imagination, but he takes his work seriously and expects his students to take it seriously as well. If you don't take it seriously, he does not take you seriously. Not a man to mess around with... definitely my favorite!

If you take Mash, make sure your ready. I had american government, and its not an easy class at all. I thought he explained everything fairly well comparing our gov to a ball game. The background he gave was very cool and helpful, but when it came to tests he had words there that blew me out of the water. Prepare yourself, but its interesting.

Avoid Mash's class like the plague. He has his favorite students in the class and the rest are screwed. He doesn't do things when he says he will and his is very disorganized. In addition I am not sure he even reads papers, making it difficult to know where your grades come from. Just avoid him, there are much better professors in the department.

I had Professor Mash for Principle of Pol. Science and had a great experience. He would introduce class sometimes with The Daily Show and start off on a good note. His book was really helpful and made Pol. Science easier to understand through Pop. Culture. I highly recommend Mash. Make sure you read the book and take notes!

Holy crap I will never take him again! The lectures are unclear, his power point has nothing but useless information, puts things on the test that he doesn't even go over in class. He is full of himself and expects you to provide only the answers straight from the notes - even if the answer is right he will mark it wrong.
