She's fickle and limits artistic options . She doesn't give constructive criticism and will approve a painting one day and say "why would you do that!" on the next. Inconsistent and frequently absent. Prefers alla prima painting. Doesn't allow time for or teach traditional techniques. Not open to contemporary art either. Take painting elsewhere.

I have never heard a teacher toot thier own horn as much as this one. In every conversation she has to mention her entire life's accomplishments. She can be a very good teacher at times, but she often seems threatened by her own students. Seems she is very unsecure and afraid of being seen as the stereotypical art teacher. She is a very excellent painter, but not the greatest teacher.

Koczwara is a great teacher. She has a heart bigger than gold. If you appreciate art and not taking the class for an easy A, you'll love her. Give her the respect she deserves and you'll get along great

If you are not hard working, devoted or professional acting, you will not make it in her classes. Prof.K is excellent, and demands excellence in return. She does NOT teach illustration, but fine arts painting. No coloring inside the lines kiddies--and learn to accept constructive critisim.

In all of my classes with Chris, i have found her to be very critical as well as pushy. Those things are not ment in a bad way, for as an artist one must be open minded and ready for critism. I know she see's the good qualities in the artist and only wants to pull that out. Lighten up people!!!

i have had chirs for four classes now. i have learned a lot! she really cares for the students as an artist. she wants you to really try hard and not put a bunch of crap down. art is subjective so you stick to your opinion and she will usually understand!

She is hard, and i didnt know what to make of her at first. But, I know now that she is really tring to get me on the next level. If you want to be the best in the end, you will take Koczwara. If you want to be OK at art and take it easy, then dont.

i took intro to painting to LEARN how to paint. but she didn't teach anything. she makes you buy really expensive stuff and watch videos of herself painting. don't take this class if you want to learn anything.

I transferred here from art school and I can easily say Koczwara is the worst painting teacher I've had. She is going to destroy the program. I feel my painting has actually gotten worse since I've taken her class.
