Comment:

I took History and Film with Dr. Lovett, and enjoyed the class. However, attendence is 50% of your grade and the other 50 is a paper which he is very vague about. If you do not like watching black and white films, do not take this class. I also found his class kind of hard to follow, but that's okay because there are no tests or any homework.

Comment:

Dr. Lovett is very kind, but his information is often disorganized and difficult to follow. His teaching style is ineffective. Attendance is mandatory, but he posts all of his lectures, pretty much word for word online. He also tends to make inaccurate and insensitive comments. If you have the option to take a different history class, I would.

Comment:

The most hilarious professor on campus. He makes lectures intriguing and fun. He prods at religion every once in awhile. His tests are super easy as long as you studied the handouts and notes. He is more than willing to help students as long as you are willing to be helped. I am taking one of his courses again next semester.

Dr. Lovett is the best professor I have ever had. He challenges his students every single class period, and is not afraid to create conversation. Whether you agree with his political views or not is irrelevant. He makes you think critically about your own views, and encourages you to become more informed on the world around you. Very intelligent!

I have taken several classes with Prof Lovett online, and I loved every one of them. If you want to know everything about the Cold War, Vietnam, and Korea, then you NEED to take his classes. BEST TEACHER!!!

Comment:

Dr. Lovett mixes facts and figures with his own opinion and experiences. Definitely a class for those who aren't easily offended (He does tend to poke and prod at religion a bit). But entering the class with an open mind has definitely given me a much better experience than some others.

Dr. Lovett is awesome. He makes it clear that while he is biased he will present any side of an issue even if he doesn't agree with it. Get ready for some arm waving, shouting and some general pontification. Tests require a goodly amount of studying. Just so you know. Oh and he doesn't use textbooks. Get ready for some novels.

While I may not agree with Dr. L's political standpoint (which he makes obvious in all of his classes) I respect his ideas because he backs them up with facts, figures, and endless information. I've taken numerous courses with him and he presents the information with in depth knowledge, experience, and energy. I highly recommend his classes!

He's just about the smart man I've ever met, and he's always willing to talk to you if you have a problem or question about the class or an assignment. I highly recommend taking his classes. I think he is a great professor. He makes the class interesting and interacts with his students. He leaves things open to you, like on his exams and doing the book club. I enjoy having options that way I can do something that interest me. Very Good Professor!
