Wort professor that I've ever enrolled to in my life. It is the first time that I fail a course that isn't related to my major.

Not a fun experience. Didn't learn much, despite my prior interest in filmmaking. He also lost his temper way too often and would have consistent problems maintaining order in class. Stay away!

Chris is a great instructor and truly loves teaching film studies. Show up, listen, watch the films, write some viewer reviews, and you'll get a good grade. Plus, you'll actually develop critical skills when looking at movies. A good class taught by a great prof.

Lupke loves films & Asian culture but that does NOT make him a good Asian Film teacher. Class wasn't organized and he had no control over it. You need to show up to class not because you'll learn something but because of attendance. A lot of people would just show up sign the sheet and leave. LOL. Also the class text is never used, so DONT BUY IT!!

Teaches the class as a film class instead of focusing on the cultural aspect of the films (the classes are NOT listed under film but under Asia/Japn/Chin). Is often unable to maintain order in his class, and is very arrogant about what he teaches.

I've taken Chinese 101, 102, and am definitely going to continue! I love him, the whole class loves him, no idea where these negative reviews come from... He's hilarious and easy-going. He and Cao Laoshi do a great job as counterparts teaching this class. I RECOMMEND taking Chinese HIGHLY. Easy tests, just study! Easy homework. Show up, pass.

Dr. Lupke is interesting, but he expects his students to be prepared. He is funny and tries to make things interesting, but might seem a bit like a jerk if you don't talk to him outside of class. Attendance is mandatory, as is being prepared before class. The most important thing is to be respectful, and you will get along fine in his classes.

Lupke is a good teacher. He knows his stuff and teaches too that, and often makes correction from the (substandard) book and relies heavily on it (so attending is a must). Don't get on his bad side, he isnt afraid to rail on students who he doesnt like, but he will like you as long as you dont disrespect him. Also make sure your pronounciation good

Dr. Lupke is a smart man. Some might not like him but I liked him, he can be strict at times . He makes his class interesting with his humor. Sadly, attendance is mandatory so if ur not sure if u can make it to class everyday don't bother taking his class. attendance and participation will help u alot getting an A.

Professor Lupke is a great teacher although he can be a bit strict, especailly on pronunciation. He also relies on the book more that the other teachers in the department but that is understandable. One of the things I like about him is that he gets so enthusiastic about Chinese that he gets capivated in his stories which takes up time in class.

Worst professor I've ever had at WSU. Gets angry so easily, yells at students, disrespects other cultures, does not leave any room for mistakes and that is how people learn.

Enthusiastic teacher, however he tends to push his classes on students. He will look up your schedule to make sure you really don't have room for another one of this classes. He's helpful until you don't agree with him.
