Honestly, whenever I needed help, he would try to help me. However, all the examples given in class were WAAAY TOO easy compared to what was asked on tests. Yes, the guy is really nice, but, I think that he should improve the examples given in class.

Somebody speculated that MacDonald wrote positive responses on this website - this makes so much sense! He is so conceited and obsessed with self-promotion I am sickened by him. When I see him, I cannot help but think "pride comes before the fall."

Hard marker, intolerant of opinions differing from his viewpoints.Seems pretty full of himself in class,as a visit to his ethicsweb blog (with its large pictures of "himself") also indicates. I would not recommend him as a prof...and with his level of self-worship, I wouldn't doubt that he has posted many of the "glowing" reviews of "himself" here.

One of the best profs I have ever had. Explained things well and spoke clearly. Carried himself in a relaxed, friendly, and approachable manner. I am currently looking into other philosophy courses as a result of what a positive experience I had with this course with him.

Chris MacDonald is a professor I will never forget. He is smart, clever and knows what he is talking about. For those of you who think he is arrogant, I think you're crazy! He sure has taught me a lot in Philosophy and I am even considering it to be my major, thanks to him. I hope I can take another class with him!

His text book was hopeless (he wrote it himself) and he did nothing but read the power points and correct his errors he had made. When I went to his office he was a mumbling mess and couldn't figure out a way to explain what I did not understand thus I had to go to a friend who took this course in highschool. Critical thinking, not quite...

If you're interested in philosophy, this guy is one you cant miss out on taking. His tests/exams are fair, he keeps class interesting, and I miss being in his class! He was right in saying Critical Thinking one of the most important you will take. I hope to take classes with him!

First off, he isnt funny. Second, hes very very arrogant and for a class called "critical thinking" he leaves you not thinking very critical at all: what he says is the TRUTH. PHIL 1200 was way easier then his business ethics class, which i highly reccomend no one takes. Hes a cocky loser who thinks hes the smartest man alive.

Chris is a GREAT prof! HE is soo clear and makes a "dull" topic seem interesting by adding in humor. I dont know what you guys are talking about, but he was always willing to help with questions when ever you needed it! Maybe he was short with people who didnt bother to come to class or read the book before they asked questions.. which is typical.

What a weiner....this guy may be young, but teaches as though the entirety of his class hails as a recent graduate of highschool. Seems to try way too hard to be considered "cool" by his students! This class is required for a BA, but incredibly boring.

Yes, the class was fairly easy and he explained the material well. However on big problem I found was his attitude when responding to students questions. He was impatient and often made people feel unintellegent or inadequate for asking questions.

One of my favorite profs! He has a fun teaching style and his humour makes the class interesting :) He encourages attending class, but overall he's pretty easy anyway! Easy text, and the tests aren't that bad if you go to class! I would take another course with him if I could! SWEET sideburns

Like everyone says: He may be the best prof at SMU. I'm male, so I can't vouch for the hotness, but if you like sideburns - woo boy! You're in for a treat. I took more notes in his class than in all my other classes combined. Seriously, take his course. FINAL NOTE: I was freaking out my first few days at SMU, and his humour helped me a lot.
