Can he be funny? Yeah, sometimes. But the entertainment value is just not worth the hassle. He's curt and rude. Refuses to provide any practical* assistance outside of class. *He will gladly rant at you, but not likely in the general direction of the question you asked.

Sheldon is a funny guy, but it seems like he doesn't plan his lectures and just gets lost on a tangent every class and ends up telling us stories completely unrelated. It's made me walk out in anger after taking 1 line of notes during 75 minutes. However, if you do the readings, you will do fine in his course... and FYI he assigns A LOT to read.

If you are still deciding on which professor's critical thinking class to take, especially if you are in your first year, please take Prof Wein's class! Funny guy, really sweet and you are sure to pass his tests.

Comment:
I took critical thinking with Sheldon and I would never take another class with him again. He is very confusing and he even created his own textbook which is equally as confusing. There are only 5 tests over the span of a year which sucks. His markers are inconsistent and he isn't approachable at all - makes you feel unintelligent.

His humour is quite dark and perhaps not for everyone. People shouldn't get offended though. He can get a bit confused at times, but he does know the material, and will take time to explain it to you if you ask, both during class and at his office. Cares about students who care about school. Very kind man, if you approach him.

This professor is commonly unprofessional making not school appropriate jokes. He is unclear hard to hear and constantly gets confused by what he is doing. There's only 5 tests so no other work to be graded on all year. He gave an answer for the practice test which he then changed 3 times all why being confused by his own explanations

Sheldon is hilarious. He's a little nutty sometimes and his jokes can be pretty crazy, but he definitely means well. Tests aren't hard if you study and usually almost exactly the same as the practice tests. No textbook, he posts readings on blackboard.

He's a pretty decent prof, yes a little nutty and his joke a hit or miss. But he keeps the class pretty simple, and he does post the readings online so you save some money, but not the lectures. But really if you do the readings you'll get the material. Best part is his tests are EXACTLY like the practice test.

Dr. Wein is a great professor who knows exactly what he's talking about, and is extremely passionate about his field. His jokes at times can go too far and he can be offensive, but he's pretty funny. All readings are posted online which will save you a bit of money; do the readings and go to the practice test to get an A+ in the course.

He is sometimes very confusing and you can easily get lost if you don't attend class or if you even zone out for a moment. However, he is very nice, his offensive humour is harmless. He is very passionate about what he teaches and is always willing to help a student who doesn't quite understand.

Best way to describe Sheldon: eccentric. You have to attend class to do well, or it'll all go right over your head. Very helpful outside of class, he's more than willing to help you. He can be offensive at times, but overall it's all really harmless. He really takes an otherwise dull topic and injects some life into it!

Very confusing man, often makes fun of and ridicules those who ask questions. Also one time his TA's marked 2 questions wrong on a test, I handed it back and explained to him that they were marked incorrect, he changed those marks to correct, but then changed 3 others which were previously marked as correct to incorrect? (They were all right)...

I had Dr Wein for Phil of Law. He can be dry and does not post notes online, however, if you do the readings, go to class and pay attention you can get an easy A. His sense of humour can be offensive if you take it the wrong way. I personally think he is brilliant, great prof, and is happy to see you after class if you need help.

I had Wein for critical thinking and phil of law and received A+'s in both. If you do some reading, show up for class, and study for tests there is no reason for you not to do well, he wants you to have an A+ as much as you do. He is happy to clarify things but really you just need to get used to his style of lecturing.

Sheldon is very helpfull and will go out of his way to ensure you are comfortable with an assignement or a topic discussed in class. I had to miss a class and he met with me to discuss that days lecture. His classes can be verrry dry however he do not post notes and he sometimes asks questions about specific things talked about in class.

Sheldon is great guy.I took his intro class 12 years ago. I was not sure if I was going to stay in university and ended up getting a major in Philosophy. I have three degrees now and teach myself. Sheldon had a big influence on me. He's not crazy, he just thinks on much higher level then the average person.
