This class was lecture heavy the first few weeks but after that she started bringing in guest speakers. Assignments include quizzes, lesson planning, doing a mini teaching lesson, and creating a teacher-made test based on a school textbook she lends you. Very easy to pass if you just do the work. However 3 years later i forget everything i learned

I took Art & Music in Teaching and this class uses a guest speaker literally every week. She barely lectures so most of your assignments will be based on independent reading. For every chapter you have to do an analysis. You are graded on these weekly chapter papers and a final. Final project was knitting. Easy to pass if you just do the work.

dr chaney is a great teacher and wants to help us become great teachers is very very tough. follow the rubric/grading sheet exactly. she doesnt address assignments clearly, and even if she says what is due ten times ask her again personally bc there was always a missing assignment and i sat right in front of her. is a tough grader. didnt use books

She is superwoman outside of Point Park, but she is often too busy with her chaotic life to have enough time for us. Easy essay tests, trees worth of handouts, and guest speakers every other class.

Dr. Chaney doesn't do much of the teaching and you'll get out early every class. Most of the time, she'll have a guest speaker talk and then she'll talk about her son for a while. Tests are all essays and you can do well if you read the handouts. If you want your money's worth, take another professor.

When I first started this class it seamed a bit scary, and the syllabus was a little confusing ( but most of them are). Dr. Chaney is a wonderful teacher. She wants everyone to succeeed. I would reccommend her to anyone interested in Education. She really listens to you -a great people person!
