Comment:
Christian is very fun, energetic, and has a great sense of humor. We barely did any yoga and we just talked some days which was good. When we did do yoga is was very fun and enlightening. This class was only PED Lecture so there wasn't any tests, only online (easy) work. The final exam was a class discussion and answering questions. 10/10 reccomend

Christian is a very caring passionate professor. He knows the information and is always available to help. He tells you all the time to visit him if help is needed. The class is hard but it prepares you to take the CSCS exam so its supposed to be.

Christian is a passionate & caring professor. His 410 class was difficult, but he always made opportunities to meet and help outside of lecture & lab. Made a point to keep class fun & get to know his students. He could have been more specific with his final lab project. 410 is intended for CSC exam & is material dense class; U will learn a lot!

Integral Hatha Yoga- So much love for this course and this prof. Christian is inspirational and very supportive of all skill levels, despite being a true wizard at yoga. This class really forced me to relax and take some time for myself during my toughest semester. Put all you have into this class and you'll be amazed how much you grow inside & out

Dr. Barnes is the best teacher I've had at UNCW by far and I've had some great professors here. His class is really interesting and he cares a lot about each of his students. Lab is really fun, make sure you get into a lab he is teaching. Tests are pretty hard but they are all from the notes even though you might have around 50 pages of them.

Nice guy and obviously cares about his students, but this class is pointless if you don't plan on taking the CSCS exam. It's hard to remember everything for the tests since not all of the material on the tests is from the notes and each test is comprised of 6 chapters. On the first day he will bring up that only a few people get an A in his course.

Christian is by far one of the best teachers I have had at UNCW. Although this class was very challenging (plus I took it over the summer), I felt very prepared for the CSCS exam by the end of it. Also, the labs were pretty interesting. I would recommend Christian as a teacher for sure!

I took Yoga with him, and it was pretty great. He is knowledgeable, funny, and relaxed. He does a similar routine all semester, so we didn't expand on lots of new poses, but it was enjoyable hour nonetheless.

He is a great and funny man. The australian accent is very entertaining, and he was good for yoga. But when it comes to the lecture parts that are required in the class he is NO HELP AT ALL. He will always refer you to TAC no matter the issue and it becomes stressful. So that is why the clarity and Helpfulness are so low...

Had him for PED 216 Lab. Was very clear on body parts and what we needed to learn. The accent made it better. Makes jokes and tells fun stories to keep class interesting.

Had him for 350 and 201. Does not take role for 350 but always 201. Reads (NOT teach) from power points that are not made by him. Makes things confusing, doesn't know answers to many ques. Thinks Australian teaching is superior. You don't need to come to class bc power points come from the textbooks website and all he does is read word for word.

HORRIBLE! Is not clear on assignments. In the beginning everyone liked him but at the end, everyone despised him. He's also moody, so be careful on what day you get. He loved his 202 class and compared us to them all the time even when computing grades. He would love to show off esp. at golfing and anything to show off his strength. Arrogant!

Not horrible overall, but manages to make the material even more boring (if that's possible) and way harder than it should be on tests. No attendance policy which is good, bc the notes come word for word from the book & you'd be better off reading it at home anyway. Class felt like a complete waste of time.

Barnes knows his stuff on yoga, and he really made the class fun and interesting. It was one of the easiest A's I ever earned. The accent and the fact that he's hot doesn't hurt either! :)

He takes the class too seriously to be a 200 level class. He is very unclear and even if you know the material, you probably won't get an A. Very stubborn and won't listen to anything you say.

Christian has the best intentions in the world and is a delight to be around. I'm just not sure his teaching methods are up to par. Sometimes assignments are unclear and his tests baffle even the student with a great understanding of the material.
