I was not a fan. Some people didn't do some of the work, and if I found out they passed, I'm going to the dean. Shows too many movies. Wants you to read way to much for what the class is. It's American Culture, not medical school. Made sure to use every minute of class, even if we were just sitting there. Never again.

Great Professor! If you focus on the details of his lectures, and not on perfecting your notes, there is no way you can fail. Gives lots of interesting facts, the way he lectures makes it easy to remember facts long after the lecture. He definitely grades according to details (dates, statistics) on papers and exams (which are entirely essays).

Before this class, I was a Language Arts major. Now I am going into Secondary Education, majoring in Social Studies and minoring in History...largely due to taking this class. Dr. Kassel will teach with passion and clarity. Great class! Great Professor!

Professor Kassel was awful. He grades purely on lecture whether what he said was actually right or not. His exams are all essay and he is very unattractive! He also eats and drinks in class. HORRIBLE!

Good teacher overall, just make sure you are very detailed when answering essay questions on exams. Not the easiest grader but tries to be helpful when explaining what he expects on exams. I would definitely take another one of his courses and recommend him to anyone.

He's not a bad teacher he just gets side tracked a lot and doesn't make tests and papers very clear in class. If you take his class ask a lot of questions if you're unsure because other wise you'll be really blindsided by the work.

Women in American History Class very interesting and told from a balanced perspective. Respects everyone's opinions, is always open to questions and loves teaching. Great guy I have taken him 4x and many of us will take a course just because he is teaching it because he is such a good teacher!

Had to write fast during lectures to get all the info. had during Spring sem. so not so many extra assignments. Everything was mostly clear and straightforward. Took notes, read them over before the test and looked at the test review he gives you, got an A (note cards help)
