Really awesome professor, though do not take if you arent interested in the subject. There is a lot of work involved but she is one of my favorite professors I had. She is really kind and understanding and while demanding, youll learn a ton from her.

Comment:

I might be biased because I had her during a study abroad program in Greece, but she was the most patient, reasonable professor I've ever had. She made the topic of Modern Greek history so interesting and easy to understand. The only thing is I was a little unclear with some of the deadlines, but all in all I enjoyed the class.

Comment:

Bogdanou is a very tough teacher that asks for participation, yet when you speak she usually will correct you unless it aligns with her beliefs. There is a 7 page midterm essay, 10 page final essay, and reading every night. The one good thing was all of the quizzes were online. She gives good feedback on essays, and is a pretty easy grader as well.

Professor Bogdanou is very knowledgeable in her field. It is only a good class to take if you are interested in the subject. She makes you think and work very hard but I do feel as if I have learned something. 5 one page reading responses, 5 current events, one presentation, a midterm, and a final.

She is the best professor I've had so far. She is a very easy grader, you pretty much just have to do your homework and go to class. I never went to office hours and still got an A. And most of the people I knew from class also got an A. She lets you choose whatever you want to write about. She is NOT hard to understand, she is actually so smart!

She's very hard to understand and very demanding. Even if she gives you the opportunity to revise at the end, there's a low chance you'll get a higher grade. Tons of reading, very strict with papers, very tough grader

I have no clue why there are so many negative reviews. If you are passionate about the topic, you'll love the class. There is A LOT of reading, but I'm grateful for it, as I learned a lot. She is a bit nit picky with essays, but still gives out a good grade. I liked the class discussions and texts. She always encourages us to share our thoughts.

Avoid her at all costs! She is hard to understand. The class is supposed to be discussion based, but she discourages any students who's contributions don't exhibit a "close reading of the text". She assigns an impossible amount of writing and grades students poorly because their views don't exactly align with her's.

Honestly one of the worst classes I've taken, very one-sided opinion wise, and it's very hard to go against what she says without feeling like it's (or without it actually) effecting your grade. Highly recommend you find another class to take... sorry but I hate my whole semester because of this class.

Worst class I have ever taken. Boring as hell and her monotone accent becomes nails on a chalkboard. Gives you the meanest condescending glare and makes you feel so stupid when you try to participate. Tears your writing apart and tough grader. You have to read and write an inhumane amount. Please, save yourself and do not take this torture.

A lot of the students are saying that her class is very boring & that she is a tough grader. Honestly, she is just very specific about what she wants. I found her class to very engaging. But you will only really benefit from the class if you participate and give your own opinions. If you come in with a bad mentality, you won't gain anything.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. t it was the most boring class i ever took. going to class ruined my day and it was a struggle to make myself go. she is really intimidating and not friendly. she cuts you off when you speak or checks her watch after she calls on you and seems completely uninterested in anything you have to say. she rips your essay apart.

Comment:

Dr. Bogdanou is a very straight-forward person when it comes to what she wants from her writing. There is a lot of reading, 1 pg. paper due every week, two 5-pg. papers, 1 presentation, and an 8-10 pg. paper as your final. Overall a VERY interesting class if you are at all interested in what it means to be a moral person.

A good-natured person who looks out for her students' well-being. She's more than willing to help during office hours, and this goes a long way - as her lectures can be dragged out and long-winded. Her grading on papers can be demanding and specific, so it helps to pay close attention to what she's looking for via class discussions/review.

Not a terrible teacher, but not outstanding either. She is a little on the quiet side and has a monotone, so she doesn't appear particularly interested. Lots of readings, and be sure EVERYONE participates or else there are reading quizzes. I can't comment on grading yet, but right now she's not someone I would trash OR praise.
