If you want a class where you can show up late and still be on time then take a class with Christine. Easily the most scattered prof I've had in my two years at Camosun. Her lectures are painful to sit through and I have found that by the end of the semester I know just as much as the beginning of the semester - even after attending every lecture.

Comment:

Would not recommend this teacher. She was late to almost every class, was all over the place with her lectures and she also took way too long to mark our assignments. Her excuse was that she gave lots of feedback on our papers, but when my friends and I received them back it had only a few comments. My grade 12 English class was harder than this.

If you put in any effort at all and speak up, she will like you. I had Ms. Kirchner for English 151. It was not the most exciting class, but she tried. She does take quite a while to hand back assignments. By the end of the semester, I still hadn't received the majority of my assignments back.

Had a morning class with her, she was at least 15 min late and would take another 15 min figuring out the projector. Wasn't always super clear with what she wanted you to write about but she did give my class an extension for our final essay when she realized no one had started the novel... Says participation is required but doesn't know your name

If you have an early morning class with her be prepared for her to be at least 15 minutes late. She also seems very scattered so it's hard to keep up with lectures. It's a good class to be in if you want to get an A though. She is a tough marker however.

I never felt I was a good writer. However, I learned a lot about writing in this class. Christine's feedback on my assignments was very helpful. Her expectations on the assignments are very clear. I enjoyed most of the readings for this class too.

She is a fantastic prof! ENG150 is a boring class, but she teaches it well. The projects are engaging and very open. No tests. She grades on the completion of the assignments and cares about the success of her students. She is understanding and helpful if you reach out. She outlines her expectations clearly in class so show up and you'll do fine.

Comment:

Christine tends to go off on tangents during lectures. Attendance will not really effect your grade as long as you do the assignments - which she gives outlines for. Class discussion really helps for the final though - as she pulls the questions right from the discussion sheet. Will help if you ask for it, but must put a lot of work into essays.

I think she is a fair instructor although she's pretty hard at marking essays. She gives a lot of feed back BUT her printing for the feedback is so small and untidy you can't read it. attendance is required (10% of the class) She is not really clear when she explains information in class, she tends to kind of mumble.Overall she's a good instructor.

This class is useless. I don't know why I bother to go. I can't believe that I'm paying for this course because I'm getting nothing out of it. Every class is extremely dull because she reads the material that we read the night before. I would suggest she make the class engage in some sort of activity to stimulate the energy.

Over all a nice enough lady but totally useless. She has no concept of technology which make this class even more painful to sit through than it needs to be. She doesn't seem to remember what she taught last class and gets her classes mixed up. She will also have no clue who you are or what your name is.

wow a pretty useless class to be honest, and although christine was nice she was basically useless as well. She had trouble turning the projector on most days. Pages of notes that could be emailed to save everyone's time, if she knew how. A decent mark for minimal required effort, however it will come in the most painstakingly frustrating fashion.
